They are facts none the less and are very relevant as the woman blimmin created the breed and is very responsible for many problems so please add to your list as was facts you were after.
And some of those pedigrees are from owners not just SC so again are fact so please add to your list.

They may be facts, but are they relevant?

I'm not the one who has thrown doubt on the pedigrees, in fact I published my own, or rather my dogs. And I'll say again in-breeding is common practice amongst all breeds. It's the amount, and if it results in health problems that an issue.

So, do you have facts and figures as to the amount of in-breeding going on, or is this another guess based on half a dozen pedigrees out of the, to quote you, "thousands of NI's"?

So say in breeding is common in Springers or rotties, maybe so in all breeds but not so dominated by 1 kennel though like the NI is bt Mahlek.

OK, so far the facts we've had of what's wrong with the wolfy breed are:

    1. No health checks done on original mating pair
    2. No single organisation in control over the breeding/registration
    3. At least 1 Re-home centre that re-homes 'entire' dogs - is this wrong?

    Conjecture:

    1. Too much in-breeding - facts & figures please
    2. High percentage of health problems - facts & figures please

    Any others?

    Hi Efes
I think its relevant & it would be fair to put something like (inaccuracy of pedigree's) as there certainly is proof that the pedigree's dont match up in most case's & the relevant people who made them dont actually know who some dogs are hence why some state eg: Efes 1 & Efes 2.

Founder of breed and current chairperson of NIS has 2 cruelty convictions and 1is for cruelty to dogs and was giving a 5 year ban.

Severe in breeding ( proof can be seen elsewhere Pm me for link)

Tumours and aggression in certain lines (also Pm me proof elsewhere).

I never said it wasn't important, in fact I think I said it was a good idea. Not sure what you're trying to imply here?

This thread is about factual things that are wrong with the wolfy breed(s), not ways to improve the breed.

Sorry, not taking any notice of this. Why the need to pm? If it's a fact then you should be able to post it.

Also you are contradicting yourself. One posts states the pedigrees have been doctored and can't be trusted, another post states that the pedigrees prove in-breeding. You can't have it both ways.

Again cruelty convictions is a problem with the person, that doesn't mean there is something wrong with the wolfy dog. Plus she's not the only breeder these days.

So, 10 pages in and we have 4 facts regarding things that are wrong with the wolfy breed. 1 of them (re-homing) may or may not be a problem, another (dubious pedigrees) aren't limited to wolfy breeds as exposed by the BBC.

I was as rude as the original poster, I used the same words. And, I simply expressed my opinion. Better to judge what exactly, and how do you come to this conclusion?

Oh please don't be so touchy, accusing me of 'implying' things. I didn't imply anything, I don't need to. I asked a question to demonstrate the point that it is important because you said it would not tell us what's wrong with wolfy looking dogs.

Part of what's wrong is that people deny that there are genetic diseases in some lines and breed from them anyway. Knowing for absolute certain which lines are affected (as I said, without having to rely on dodgy pedigrees or test mating) could stop that.

Understanding what is/had gone wrong with the breed is the first step to improving it.
