I know another NI owner who phoned and this is what she said.
Ok she is no longer for sale the owners have decided to keep her as they have spent alot of money on her treatment.
She was bred by a guy and his boyfriend who own both parents and are registered with the NIS, but go travelling.
Told her only to buy a dog from the NIS as they are the "real deal" but still wouldnt disclose breeders name.

Some people :-( poor dog ref the add but perhaps they have decided to do the right thing ref keeping the dog, if it is a permanent decision. How anyone could even consider selling a dog so soon after having a major opp is beyond me:evil:

On a diff note, I do find it strange that they have no paper work for the dog:?: Just because you buy off a friend does not mean you forfit paper work surely:?:

I saw this elsewhere and I have to say I was shocked to say the least

I'm glad that the owner has decided to keep the dog (as far as we all know) but to even consider selling it in the first place, and so soon after a major op beggars belief

If this is true then they should`nt flippin` well be breeding dogs, no one should breed knowing full well they won`t be in a position to take back any dogs they have bred, and no organisation should allow such swines to register with them, what a bl**dy disgrace

And for the owner to decide to keep her purely on the basis of having shelled out for treatment, hello, she is a living breathing creature who is supposed to be loved and cherished, not considered as an expense that should be kept because she cost them money, can`t say any more on this, too angry to think of anything coherent to say about it

They probably aren't keeping her at all..If she is NIS regd and they have said that about the breeders and papers and stuff they have probably been told to keep quiet!

Maybe they are keeping her to get a litter form her first. So they can get their money back! Thats what I think.

Maybe the dog had a tumour removed then damaged the wound by getting stuck under the railings then fluid built up and needed removing.
I had a dog that need a small lump removing under his stomach I put one of those huge collars on the vet gave me to stop him licking and he went mental, backwards around the room all over the funiture before I could stop him. As a result a couple of days later he had what looked like udders where he had filled with fluid due to the damage he did when I put the collar on him. He had to have a drain put in for a few days to help it heal.

I wouldn't assume the NIS know anything about this as all it does say both parents are NIS registered.

My Inca is NIS registered and I could breed her with any other NIS dog without the NIS knowing a thing about it.

In fact that may well be why she has no papers. The breeders just had a litter, without the NIS involvement.

Not only that but she may be from lines no longer registered with the NIS, just like my Inca.... and the 'breeders' just people who had two dogs that had a litter without any breeding ethics.

I do know the NIS has a very good rescue system in place.

I do however agree it is utterly appalling and I would have that girlie like a shot.... if my Inca would accept her, unlikley though that is.
It all sounds very dodgy to me. Not the injury, but just the fact they are now keeping her.
    Poor, poor dog.

It should be going to a rescue centre if the owner can't cope and it's been through a massive op. But the person obviously wants to make some money out of it.

That poor dog. How could not want to give the poor animal more love and attention than usual. That scar/scars are huge Max had a big scar after having a biopsy on his shoulder but nothing like that. Those are horrendous that must be to do with something major or a butcher job has been done.
I have just given Ollie another big cuddle one of many he gets during the day as I cannot imagine how you could not want to lavish extra love on that poor girl I sincerely hope all turns out well for her.

I have also been in touch, and she says she is going to keep her, and she is managing her much better now,I must admit I am still a little suspect. I have told her that if she changed her mind to get in touch with me.

We do not have any registered breeder with the NIS that has moved abroad, so I have no idea who the original breeder was.
