I'm sure that that person has already stated that information will be shared at the AGM which members will attend.
Yes my Bobbi died 9 weeks ago from Lymphoma Sarcoma and I paid every penny I could for all tests and x-rays and researched the cancer to do all I could for her. I had her 9 wonderful healthy years and destroyed me when she died in my arms, BUT I spoke to other people whos dogs were dying of it on another forum even though it ws hard for me I did it to share my info with them in turn to help there dogs. Now I did ask you a while back what your dog died from and what autopsy said and you refused to answer?
I honestly think that`s a mixture of sheer frustration, anger, and shall we say `unfortunate` posting style - I have to admit that initially my back was up many time`s - and I ask the same questions myself Aw thank you I know I have my `moments` from time to time but I hope it`s clear that it`s never to be malicious but out of sheer love and passion for all dogs
No Hun I dont mind you bringing it up, It was a horrid time, But thankfuly it was not something that he would pass on to his pups, TBH, I was very open and public about it, because people have a right to know, As a breeder you have a massive responsibility not only to the people who buy your pups, but to the breed as a whole, I posted right away on the forum about Royces condition, I knew I had friends here, they would help with info on the condition, there are so many knowlageable people on here ;-) As boobah has pointed out, I find it very strange that a vet {given that he looked at these pups} also given the age of these pups would say,,,,its just one of those things, surely he must have given some reason for there death Are you sure the vet seen these pups? From my point of view, If I had two pups at that age that had to be PTS, I would want to know why they were being PTS, for what?
All 20 odd years worth of stats in one go ? Were they never available for each year since the breeds inception :-/ And presumably they will be released as public record like every other breeds are ?
I haven't had a dog die except of old age some time ago. Some people don't like to talk and pour their hearts out to strangers and I think that should be respected. you were happy to share each detail and get support, etc. It is werewolf's right to talk to who she wants to - not have some duty to share her grief with people like you who would not be supportive or caring.
It was two pups from two different breeders, with different lines, in different parts of the country with different symptons. In both cases the vet was involved from the start and being PTS was the last resort in the interest and welbeing of the pup. In the one case a specialist was also brought into it TNA.
No werewolfs Ni mysteriously died over a year ago and no one knows why at least not people outta the loop. I think he was only 2.
No, one had a lump on her hip combined with muscle and i believe tendon porblems. The other did have joint problems but no lump. Again facts are SO important
If it were my pups I guess I would make the findings public, There is no reason on the planet not to share infromation with others intrested in the breed, JMO
2 puppies with joint problems and wasnt one bleeding in joints, I will double check as saved all info. But am sure both had lumps and both had joint problems, strange eh?
Both pups involved are from ethical breeders who love the dogs very much and were devestated by what happened. For anyone that cares to look the infomation is on their websites about what happened. Of course people have to trust in the informaiton given but i see no reason for either to lie. Some people just don't believe the answers given . . .
For what it's worth, I think it's vital that people ask questions regarding health, especially when it's a new breed with problems coming to light all the time. My dog was sold to me under the banner of no health problems in the breed. When my dog started to have fits I went to his breeder and asked if it was in his lines. The answer was no. I asked if any of his siblings had developed it - again, no. I did not want to point fingers - I told her that. I was beside myself, trying to find a reason for the fits and I needed to know if it was hereditary so I would know if he would need medicating. Having read about the meds available, I was reluctant to go down this route if I could find a cause - or treat it herbally. I was blaming toxins in the local stream, his vaccinations, his diet, even the body oil I was using. And my hormones. You see, I was pregnant when the fits started so I really didn't need the extra stress or the physical burden of dealing with a fitting dog. I went through a very expensive process involving MRI and spinal tap, trying to see if there was a cause. I have since discovered, through asking questions and talking to others, that it IS in his lines so she could have saved me a lot of grief, effort and expense by just telling me the truth. Alternatively, perhaps she didn't know the truth, in which case she had no business breeding from dogs whose lines hadn't been properly researched. Later on, when I continued to e-mail her with questions and my own findings, she admitted to me that the pedigrees weren't completely correct but said it wasn't her fault, but that of others!!! I felt like I was battling against a brick wall and instead of honesty I was getting rants about breed politics and how everyone was jealous of her. I made some noise because I wanted this kind of thing to stop. I have had him DNA profiled, a copy of which is on a database to try to match up relatives and health issues. The person who is collating all this data has been refreshingly honest and frank regarding health issues in the breed, although this has not been welcomed by some who don't want to hear it! I tried to trace his siblings and could not find one single one, other than the one the breeder kept for herself. What if I'd not gone down the meds route, believing I could stop the fits with a lifestyle change? He could be dead now. What if I'd gone on to breed from him, assuming his lines were as clear as I was led to believe? Not that I would have anyway, but some might have done, not understanding. Others have, not caring. So you see, if people don't ask questions and if answers aren't forthcoming, it could have quite dire consequences.
I have been discussing this thread with a good friend of mine and we understand your questions and that it peeves you when u dont get answers but we dont understand why u just dont research the breed in a more constructive manner instead of slagging the NIS off on a public forum? If your questions are genuine then why dont u present them in a more approachable manner then maybe just maybe they will be answered? The way you come across is very hostile and the majority of your facts aren't even true, if you are genuinly (?) concerned about the breed i'd have thought u would have made sure your facts are true and you wouldn't be sneaking round peoples houses with a camera x
If anyone reads your words LS but still can`t understand why questions are - and will continue to be- asked, then I can only conclude they must need to borrow a shovel to dig their heads out of the sand once and for all. Hugs to you LS, and if ever there were a post which sums up the importance of an end to the lies, the smoke screens, and a start to frank, honest, and open communications, your post is it.
