Actually you have a dog you claim is a NID big difference. If you were so concerned about health etc you would've done your research before you got your dog. If you had done, judging by the way you run NIDs down, you would'nt have bought a NID anyhow. Moral of the post, do reserch before you go out and aquire a particular breed of dog. And as for bad breeding practices your source of info, that is the person with bad breeding practices, don't believe me? Why do you think the breed club pushed her out!
So the NIS wouldnt let a dog breed and register the pups if hip scores hadnt been done? Because some of us arent looking for perfection and take a dog on for who he is faults and all luckily for you breeders out there.
Okaydoky here you go: Thread about the number of NI bred - locked: http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=91194 And two locked about the two pups kcjack is going on about: http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=90882 http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=90886
In all seriousness I believe that if Boobah ever bred a litter and that happened, if there were a hereditary factor she would likely volunteer that information and would contact ny buyers of the pups. Iirc, when Shona`s beautiful lad developed diabetes, [ Shona I hope I am not causing you pain by bringing it up hun ], the first thing Shona did was find out if there were any hereditary issues involved, [ there were`nt thankfully, he had late onset non-hereditary diabetes ], so that she could contact anyone who may have had his progeny. That`s what responsible breeders do, they don`t keep shtum, they want to make sure no one - and no puppy they have bred - will suffer.
The people involved have been informed no one is keeping shtum but why should kcjack demand answers when she is in no way involved? IF the problems had been hereditary then of course action would be taken. They are not so i don't get how its any of kcjacks business, and to keep dragging it up on here only cause pain to those involved.
The first links topic is number of litters per bitch, not overall breed stats, the other two are not what the opening post is about - the subject may have come up again re the poor pups who died however that is not the same as being the opening topic covering previously locked threads.
Kcjack keeps bringing it up because it has never been answered. If you know for definite, presumably if autopsies have indeed been done, that there was no hereditary factor involved, surely it would allay worries for people to be told that and what the cause actually was, especially for anyone reading who may be considering buying an NI at some point ? All I see though is ` not telling` ` none of your business` etc etc. Why can`t people just be open about it especially if there is no hereditary concern involved, would`nt that be the more adult, logical, and sensible route to take
Who said I was talking about these poor pups that died :-(.Never once did I mention them did I ?I was talking about kcjack showing us what lengths breeders will go to,to sell pups and what blatant lies they go to to sell pups too. Are you saying thats standard procedure in selling Inuit pups these days,I think not Now you have brought myself into the argument regarding these pups that died though. You say the vet said it was one of those things that happens with pups, was there an autopsy done on these pups as if this had happened to any of Shonas litters I'm sure she would have demanded some answers and would have given them to anyone who asked. Then again she has nothing to hide has she ;-)I'm sure if there was an autopsy done and it was nothing to do with breeding the results would have been made public as soon as they were available, xxxxxxxxx
Suppostition. If only such time and effort was put to good use by being spent on breeds (remember that programme the other night?) that really do need help and such breeders the world might be something of a better place. I am off to walk my dogs.
Because the people who can answer are not on this forum and without permission i don't want to share details about their dogs. I respect peoples right to share there own information and don't go around spying and using 3rd hand titbits to make my point. . .
While kcjacks posting style may leave a lot to be desired at times, [ something I have pointed out on more than a few occasions believe me ], many of the questions kcjack poses are the same as many of us have been asking for a very long time. Are all of us then to be considered trolls for asking those questions that some people would rather not - in fact have repeatedly refused point blank - to answer ?
The problem i have with this member is the way she goes about things. Every question she askes has a certain amount of malice and agenda about it. Many time it seem less like she wants answers and more like she just wants to start a fight. That for me is trolling You a troll! Not you patch, your a star! The only reason i stay on this forum are people such as yourself and many others . .
HD, and possibly hereditary epilepsy, and potential for problems from any of the original breeds used - un-healthtested of course, [ as no one has given any proof to the contrary despite being repeatedly asked ], - I`d say they need help as much as any breed, especially as a new breed for which these things should be nipped in the bud now rather than wait until they are a breed in serious crisis. Did you not see the great efforts made by Lucky Star to bring NI owners together on DNA submissions to help devise a test to identify epilepsy carriers ? And that those of us who are non-owners were in there trying to help too ? Why ? Because we give a damn - and yes the same people tend to be savvy on many health issues in many breeds - again because we give a damn. Is that wrong ? After all, some one has to care don`t they ?
That's unnecessary, PM would be kinder to ask such a thing. But while on the subject, didn't you lose a dog that wasn't an NI? My lab has HD, I don't expect my NIs to just because they are NI - why do you expect Kato to have it?
The co-founder is a member, and is the one person who should be able to answer anything and everything about them from origins to now. Those who used to be members here did`nt want to answer questions when they had the chance either. Anyhoo, back to topic, are there any breed stats kept for NIs like the KC one`s I posted the link to for all recognised breeds ? Those are public stats, they are not kept secret and I presume there is no reason for any breeds stats to not be available for the general public to see ? TIA
