Hi all, being the OP, can i just state that i am looking for a male - not an ex breeding bitch. I have had a few pm's but it has all been females. I already have my female leo in the house (who is spayed, before anyone thinks i'm into weird and wonderful x-breeding, :002: )

Hopefully there will be one who will fit into my life very shortly though its a shame they go into rescue in the first places - for whatever reasons.

Well 2 if you class the Ute as a 'Inuit type' dog.

I said TYPES I don't think anyone would argue that a Ute was not an Inuit "type" and personally I may be tempted to count the husky GSD as being of similar TYPE.

Not sure why the rolling eyes .... had the OP been looking for husky "type" I would have highlighted the same three .... why it is an issue I have no clue.

    Then whats the problem??

Julie said "inuit types" not NI!

And I would say there are 3 on there..the NI, the Ute and the GSD x Husky

Thank you - I was merely trying to help someone looking for a dog - and dogs looking for homes.
I would refer to a GSD cross as a German Shepherdy type and shockingly anything white and curly and long would fall under my "bichonish" umbrella.

A nice dog is a nice dog - especially when it is one looking for a home ....

    LOL!!!!

Thats funny! You do KNOW what made up your NI's don't you:lol:

A GSD x husky is inuit TYPE as its 2/3 of what makes up and NI..

An NI is a Inuit TYPE because its an NI

and a UTE is an Inuit TYPE because it used to be an NI

give it a rest eh? .i would not class a gsd/husky as an inuit type, i would class it as a cross breed just like the OP, our opinion, just like its your opinion they are inuit types. i had a gsd cross wolfy looking dog as a kid, i called him a gsd cross or a bitsa not a inuit type. he died when i was 17

Yeah.. I will when you will...

I would class an Ni as a cross breed so would you rather we called them all crosses or inuit types?

True NI's have not been crossed with any other breed for about 20 yrs

If Muddiwarx had written that there were cross breeds for rescue on that site it could have applied to any number of dogs as there are other crosses on the site.

But more importantly, does it really matter, in the scheme of things, how they were referred to when the aim was to highlight dogs in need which might be suitable for the OP? Why it should result in nit-picking about a general description is beyond me.

I think they are not recognised as a breed till they get KC status which NIs dont and the NIS dont want which is strange, so in theory they are crossbreeds. Are'nt they like lurchers then a type really.
I dont understand how they have been going 20 years when no one has any history to show.
