    Ohhhh lookiee....

    Settle people...

I would think answering a question would not WRECK the Q&A session..it would just be one less question to ask and one more thing "cleared up"..

Just a thought here, has the origins and information on the first dogs that were used to create NI's ever been displayed on the NIS website for its members?

As i'm sure your aware kcjack I don't post on here much but I do watch the threads on MY chosen breed, why do you have to turn every thread into a argument against the nis, why did you bother comenting when your just an outsider as I am?

I have seen photo's of the original dogs used, which as Julie has just posted, were on the original site.

The difference between TIDA and the NIS are that SC, who founded TIDA was banned from the NIS because of bad breeding practices and started her own society/ association. Sadly, these practices were continued resulting in a lot of dogs having major health issues (one since being re-homed due to eplilespy)

I'm a very critical person who won't think twice about opening my mouth (as you all know) and I was once a member of both TIDA and the NIS forums. After listening and watching both groups, I decided to fall with the NIS because too ME, they were breeding for all the right reasons. I'm sure that TIDA members think the same thing.

The last thing I want is for people to buy what they think, or have been told, is a pure NI and to find out at a later date that it isn't. This does nothing for the breed as a whole. :-(

Because as a owner of a NI and trying to learn about the breed you discover many things that are wrong so feel I should comment and also I have every right to. I think if you read my posts they are not arguments they are genuine questions that always remain unanswered. I dont think you will ever find abusive name calling or petty name calling in my posts.
I find it very bizarre you can comment on my genuine posts yet not on other posts that are abusive and calling personal names you choose not to mention.

Also my gripes are more with the NIS as when I asked TIDA hard serious questions I received a full informative answers after posting on there forum not pesonal comments and nasty jibes for asking awkward questions.

The one that lived by me is out of one of your bitches and by one of your Dogs. All the Epileptic NI's I have read about and looked into go back through all your breeding after the second if not the third generation.

Well if you were so concerned about the breed you would work with TIDA not when one of your members posts a thread about a TIDA talk on inbreeding and epilepsy have it removed. If you cared about the dogs you would want people to attend the talk surely.
You would share this info, documents and all these pics you have seen to all the other NI owners out there. I mean the info is not even on your own forum.
And you would refrain from using abusive language and threatening people with opposing views to yourself.

If you were so worried about the dogs

I'm really interested in Nis and Utonagans, but it's really irritating that there's so much bitching in the wolf lookalike camp. We are all dog lovers aren't we? Surely we should be helping each other and engaging in healthy debate rather than slating each other and each other's breeds?! I don't know where to turn for good information and I certainly don't want to get involved in a slanging match just for liking these dogs! What's going on here!

I am a "shepherd-ish dog" type of person (not literally, before anyone gets smart  ), but would never have one of these dogs, simply because I would be embarrassed to have any connection to the childish behavior, covers ups and bitchiness of the breeders. If I should ever aquire myself such a dog (would be a rescue, I am done with puppy-shopping) I would just tell people it was a crossbreed.
That can't be the aim for any of the groups surely? And if any of them are hoping for recognition by the kennel club, well I certainly hope they will have to sort themselves out before that could ever happen.

...Not that I give that much for the kennel club either lol

I think healthy debates are important, but sadly the actions of a few turn it into something different :-(

I see where you're coming from DP. The NIS don't want KC recognition for the foreseeable future (please correct me if I'm wrong) It's just sad that not everyone can enjoy this beautiful breed (including myself) because of the spitefulness :-(

Why wouldnt you want KC recognition?

Is it because would be a transfer of power from NIS to KC?

OR because the KC would make the money not yourselves?

    DO TELL

Have u seen what the KC do to breeds? Have u seen the type of litters they register?
If NI's got KC recognised i personally wouldn't bother with another NI

Yes but have also seen what is happening to the breed so feel is lesser of 2 evils.
