Up to October 2006 nearly all NI were NIS registered.. apart from the few splinter breeders that went off to do their own thing and call their dogs different names. When TIDA was set up, people had the option to register their dogs with TIDA too... so these dogs are dually registered. After this date all TIDA pups are registered with TIDA only. That`s why some dogs have different pedigrees as a lot were found to be incorrect.. the more the lines were researched.

But then how do you know which pedigree is right? and how were they found to be incorrect...

For example if JK has bred this dog...and has the first pedigree as the OP..and states its correct..BUT Tida says it isn't and that the 2nd one is correct..

How do you work out which is real and which isn't..

And how exactly do you get pedigrees "wrong"

Tida get pedigrees wrong because they make them up.

I have copies of 4 differring pedigrees for a tida registered stud dog. This dog was born in 2001 yet the pedigrees show his GGG Grandfather as being Julies dog Ammik who must be getting on a bit now if that is correct, which of course he is not.

See this is where it gets messy..

If the pedigrees aren't right then they aren't worth doing!!

but then again girls... the same thing has been said about NIS pedigrees.. re:being made up. So someones not telling the truth.

Louise i`ve got no idea how they discover that they are wrong ... i expect breeders and owners get in touch with new information... but as i am not on the committee or have seen the database... i can only comment on what i am told by the registration officer.

Why are you surprised? How can you say its a UTE when it says NI on that pedigree? Is is because of the long coat? Loads of NI's have long coats dont they, Ive seen a fair few.

I accept there are indescrepancies, (big ones at that) but I think its fair to say that your breeding is behind 99% of all Ute and NI breeding, dont you? Not a dig, genuine question.:001:

I think this just goes to show why threads get locked not the people asking the questions but the people responsible shirking responsibility. These pedigrees are worthless not worth the paper there written on. And all those people who think "I want a wolfie looking dog" need sites like Dogsey more than ever.

Janie, I understand what you are saying but it was TIDA that issued both pedigree's. One for my boy and the other for a related dog. Dam and Sire the same but the Dam's pedigree is different on each pedigree issued.

One or both pedigree's are wrong. All I want to know is which one is correct. The dogs both came from the same parents so how can the Dam's pedigree differ on our papers?

you absolutly wrong there dawn, yes utes do have some of are breeding behind them, but take toto tim dreamcatcher, sire to this dog,he was owned by lynn baraclough, when lynn brought him she never got a pedigree for him only the name of his parents,so if you look on ute pedigrees and see him his name you will see his parents listed but not granperants, but all of a sudden my ammik appears on this pedigree as tims grandad, now tim died over a year ago at i think the age of nine,so how the hell can my six year old dog be his grandad???????????????? my dogs are nothing to do with that dog at all.

Am I reading that right? Digit was mated with her Dad Thor I to make (what looks like the name) Chanoni? Then Chanoni is mated to her Son (something or other at Spotted Wolf). Are father/daughter and mother/son matings acceptable? And that before you think about the fact that a 6 year old dog is supposedly the great great grandfather of a 9 year old dog or something...
I can't make out the rest to see what other weirdness is in there.
