    Question for Tida, different pedigree's

    Question for the TIDA -

Why are there 2 different pedigree's for the Dam of my boy?

This is the pedigree I received for my boy
    [IMG]

This link takes you to the pedigree of a dog from a later litter to the same Dam and Sire. The Dams side is different to what I have. Why?

For the NIS. Can you tell me which is the correct pedigree according to your records since he was originally registered with the NIS as a puppy.
    Reg name - Lizmar Kibwana
    Reg no. - 3013
    DOB - 19.2.2001

i think you`ll need to talk to the registration office.. Carol. I do know that there were a lot of mistakes made on previous pedigrees .. before TIDA was formed.

It was the TIDA that issued both of the pedigree's Janie and I spoke with the Reg officer about my boy but the other pedigree is another dog from a later litter from the same dam and sire.

It shows on the pedigree in the link that the Dam's reg no. is beside her name but strangely hers is 4112 but my boy is 3013. How can that be unless she wasnt registered until after she had her litters.

Thanks Julie. His Reg. no. is the correct one as its the same as the one he came from you with so I can only gather that his Dam's no. is wrong.

Any info on his pedigree and also pics of course will be most welcome

No world war Julie... just relaying the information committee members had said to be in the past... that alot of the pedigrees were incorrect. Elaine... The data base for registrations was the exactly the same as the NIS had up to Oct 06.. when TIDA puppies were born after this date, they were then added. So was your boy born prior to Oct 06... if so... then the data base had exactly the same records as the NIS had. It was later on that it came to light.. that many of these records were found to be incorrect. As Carol was the registration officer for the NIS prior to Tida.. give her ring and i`m sure she will fill you in why the pedigree has changed.

Janie, my boy was born in 2001 and the dog in the other pedigree was born 2004. Same parents but different pedigree's for the Dam. Both pedigree's issued by TIDA.

Elaine... the 2nd pedigree was probably issued.. because there were probably errors on the first one.. as the first one was probably the same as the NIS one that was issued. I have heard.. through various avenues, and have no proof, but a lot of pedigrees were incorrect as a lot of inbreeding was covered up.

Janie, they are the pedigree's of 2 separate dogs. They are siblings from different litters out of the same Dam and Sire born 3 years apart.

The Dam's pedigree is different on each of the pedigree's.

I was totally confused with this but now I understand..

SO its Mahlek Lady Jane's pedigree that is wrong? on one or both of those pedigree's?

If that is so then I would assume that NIS would have pedigrees of them since its JK that bred the bitch..

Can I ask why your pup is reg'd with TIDA if the parents are reg'd with NIS..

I thought each faction stuck with their own if you know what I mean..like each pup bred to NIS is to further the NIS..same with TIDA..

Yes, its Mahlek Lady Jane's pedigree that is wrong on one or both pedigree papers.

Julie is kindly looking into it for me since most dogs are from her breeding line. I will hopefully also have photo's shortly too

My boy isnt exactly registered with the TIDA since I only paid membership so I could get a copy of his pedigree since they stated that most had been wrong and had been sorted out. It wasnt until I came across the pedigree of his sibling from a much later litter (also supplied by TIDA) that made me curious as to how 1 bitch could have 2 different pedigree's.

I cant answer your question on the factions since I'm not involved with any, as they could attest to. I have posted once in a blue moon on an NI forum, same as here really, and have also never been to one of the shows or events.

My dog couldnt further the NIS or TIDA even if he wanted to  He is patchy boy and was neutered at 18 months old. He is now 7.

You're welcome  To be honest, I never intended to breed anyway whether he had been patchy or not. I love my dogs and do the best for them but I'm not cut out to breed. I like my sleep too much and my dogs to be healthy and happy. I'm too much of a worrier

When were TiDA and the NIS formed?

 I had to go back and look after you said that and at first glance (especially on the smaller resized version) it does look like Fruit

I have Lady Jane in Inca's pedigree, but mine doesn't go as far back as yours. I reckon Inca's Mum was your dogs' littermate..... unless Thunderstorm and Lady jane had more litters together.

Yay!!! I've got a fruit dog  If you ever met my boy you would soon find out that Fruit dog is pretty apt for him

The NIS was formed over 20 years ago and TIDA a lot more recently, perhaps 5 years give or take although I wouldnt quote me on that.

If Lady Jane is in the pedigree then yes they are related  My boy was born in 2001 and I know that Lady Jane and Thunderstorm had at least one more litter together in 2004.
Can you direct me to any photo's of Inca if you have any posted. I would love to have a look

the northern inuit society was formed thirteen years ago, tida was formed about eighteen months ago.
thunderstorm and lady jane was owned by liz arnold, she had two litters out of them, but when her marrage ended she had to rehome them. the person who took them on sadly then bred the two of them every season and i belive had about eight litters out of them.

Cor blimey thats a lot of litters  As far as I'm aware though the new owner is not associated with NI's but called them something else altogether?

Glad you didnt quote me as saying 5yrs for TIDA
