But that doesn't mean that it's someone that reads Dogsey either, so why post it here at all ? The internet and indeed WIKI, are open to everyone that uses the Internet !

Much like BCs, many colours but also in BCs there are huge variations in body type/overall construction - yet they are all still recognisable as BCs, many of which, regardless of various differences, can still be likened to the physical traits of at least four particular body `types` from `type founder dogs`, [ for lack of a better way to put it ], of many years ago :001:
But BCs are a bit of an anomaly I think, in being a breed of many appearances yet are easily recognised as being BCs, almost `because` of those variations - logically that should`nt make sense in a breed yet that is how it is with them :101:

Blimey, bit of a sweeping assumption to write that as though it must have been a Dogsey member who`s done it, that`s quite an accusation

So you have the temerity to assume it is a Dogsey member

Edited to say this is to whoever quoted me and asked me to add pics cos she has never seen a mal!

Haven't got time sorry..I am going out to work..However if you look at my pics you will see a Wolf grey & sable boy and a seal and white girl..

If you look at Malady's you will see a red and white boy and a grey and white girl..

Or Greyhawks pics are perfect..as you will see a red and white, grey and white and a seal and white cos she just wants one in every colour!! (LOL)

All different colours but all have the same conformation

I apologise for inferring that it could have been a dogsey member. I realise it could have been anyone in the whole world who has the opinion that the NI is a mongrel and not a breed.

Not so sure about the European part - but here is a post I made in another topic (hope it is ok to copy it here since that thread has been locked? :? ):

Up until 1896, Mals were 'probably nearly as purebred as an Eskimo society could manage'. The gold miners demanded more Mals than could actually be met so outside dogs were brought in which were crossed with the Mals and other Arctic Dogs.

However it is also true that 'the cross-breeds quickly began to return to the so-called Spitz type'. 'This Arctic type has been dominant for more centuries than man can unearth. So even the 1st generation of crossbreeds tended to look more like Spitz dogs'. 'Within 3 generations there would be no sign of outside blood'.

The above sections highlighted in Italics are all quotes from a book written jointly by the person who campaigned and got the breed recognised

Yes, I vaguely remember the quote from the book (Riddle/Seeley), it was the heavy European crossbreeding that had me baffled

I would have to disagree with this based on the pictures I have seen thus far. Although I can't say for definate they are all NIS registered, there are several NI's on here that I do not think have a similar type. I would be interested if someone could post up pictures of several NI (from several different breeders, not from the same breeder or someone who uses their lines) to see this conformity.

However both TIDA and NIS are societies, not breeds - the dogs are still NI's. Have TIDA done any cross-breeding to date? If not it shouldn't matter whether the dog is registered with TIDA or the NIS - they should all conform to the same type if they breed true.

    Agreed :)

Oi! That wasn't intentional as you well know
