Maybe you should tell our husky that then as unless she is very unhappy or sulking her tail is carried over her back. Making sure to give the world a lovely view of her bits!! Little tart. . .

So no i wasn't thinking of an Aktia, i can tell the difference! :)

What? are you serious? A gay tail is where there is too much curl? blimey! Here, my breeds' standard for you:

    Tail
Moderately short; fairly thick at base, then tapering. Set high, carried gaily, but not curled over back.

    Set high, carried gaily:

Where does it say the NI tail should be flat like a GSD, or are you making it up? I suggest you read the Husky standard too, its a fault to have too much curl in its tail, and there is no mention of "gay" either!

Yes Huskies carry their tails 'over' their backs, not 'on' their backs as you said earlier, which is why I assumed you were confused :001:

My goog god you guys are like a bunch of sharks! I wrote a brief post to someone as it was explained to me and you guys jump all over it like you smell fresh blood!

So i said ON instead of OVER this is a supposedly a friendly forum to chat about dogs. As the old saying goes asumption makes an ass out of you and me!!!

So let me clarify what i was saying . . .

As far as i am aware a 'gay' tail for an NI is a curled tail. NI's shouldn't carry the tail over there back but down.

I am not a judge of dogshows but this is how i understand it as an owner explaining it to other owners.

Inka straight tail, yes before anyone says it is too long according to the standard, should be short, not below the hock...

ok lets keep this nice guys, I really would love a thread to continue on this breed,,, without the aggro,,, I have made mistooks on this thread,,, ok fair enough its due to diff standards being out there,, but no one jumped on me for it, I also had to check the gay-ness of tails,, so no one is perfect,,, well if Im not no ones allowed to be, lmao ,,
So back on topic,, do we all agree there is a problem with the standard re the tail yes or no,,
    next problem any takers?

Thats a curled tail, a sickle isnt that shape, its a far less exxagerated curve, never ever a curl. IMO of course.

A sickle tail is one that should go straight out with a bend upwards, but not to the side, or curled over the back whatsoever

Hope these pics are helpful, as they are all from the sickle shape :

Fair comment Elaine, not critisising you, just giving my opinion. :)

I think this is why so much confusion comes into it, as Elaine said,,, she has been told what the tails should be like, but the info given was not the best,

so do we agree there is a problem with the whole tail thing in the standard? poss this could be a starting point,,
