Blue staffy Discussions

just searched for saffie, she is stunning!!

Unfortunately because the blue colour has become popular most blue staffs are bred purely for colour regardless of type etc and so most are very poor examples of the breed.IMO to breed a dog purely for colour is a no no...and then to charge stupid money for a colour that is not rare as many advertisers state is just conning unsuspecting people into parting with their money.

ino they are really expensive ive not seenb any for sale that are less than 600, even if they have no papers

I have a staffy called missy but he is a brindle,i have seen blue stafys and they lovely

Tyler is good around dogs and people but he's not allowed off lead where their are other dogs around.

Meg can be aggressive towards certain dogs,so again she's not allowed off lead where their are other dogs.

Alot of them are over priced....simply because there the so called "in" colour at the moment, because people think there unusal and want anything that is different or unusal.
Two of my friends have said stupid comments like...I want "one of them blueys" or "one of them dogs".
And when I said why...do you love staffys they said no.. or "I want a dog that colour" ?????
That is a stupid reason to get a dog full stop... and that is why people charge so much for the blues ones.
Like I said in my other post tho...there is a guy were we live he owns and breeds staffys most of them blue, and he charges the same price for a pup no matter what colour it is, 500 pound all kc reg...all his dogs are stunners and have great temp.
They all play with my boy all the time...there really nice, well behave beautiful dogs!

So there is people out there who dont all just see a "trend"
and add ridiculous prices on a pup just because of it colour!

i have got two rotts and they al get on but missy my staffy hates other dogs

well when i had my staffs they were fine with other dogs they used to run around and play with other peoples dogs too.
Think it's more to do with there own personallity and social skills imo.

I agree with you on one of what you have written but my staffy has been trained and socialised but it is there personallity whch what i agree with you.
It is in a staffy to be a non dog lover and like you i have seen some that are fine but i guess it takes alsorts

Igot a blue boy Murphy.I love him to bits.His a bit mad and all over the place at the mo ,as his only 10 mths old.Gets on well with other dogs and loves being around kids.
As for prices i totally agree ,they are way over priced for a staffy that is really a washed /diluted black.I got Murphy for the same going price as a normal coloured stafford so i was quite lucky .For some prices i have seen go for £800-£1000.

hi i have a blue female and 2 males but they r white and blue instead of blue and white like my female.but mine r all american pitbull terriers not not staffs if you give me your email i will send u some pics of them.

the only thing rare about blues is finding a good 1, health tested, looking like a stafford + at a morally correct price.

Why would you not be able to trust them with other dogs????

Some Staffords will not tolerate other dogs,unfortunatly it goes with the breed.
Would I trust mine with other dogs,not a chance.A stare from another dog can be seen as a challenge and once challenged it's very unlikely they will back down.

Ive never had one that i couldn't trust with other dogs, granted Ive only had two but both were just fine with other dogs on or off lead. I sometimes think its the fear of the owner, not saying you are Sal as it may be different for you. But we had lots of them at Chance's classes and playtime and they were great. I think that it really depends on the dog and situation as well as how you raised the dog. I dont think its fair to the breed to say that none of them are safe with other dogs as Ive seen and believe different.
