I dont... but a man were we live breeds them! The ones he breeds are total stunners..really lovely looking dogs. And there really nice dogs to...they play with my boy in the park...they like him so much now, that when he says to his dogs were gona see hades they get all excited! He owns three blues and a blueish cream dog. Really lovely dogs, great temp and really well trained to. There is some people on here who have some lovely bluey staffs...there dogs are stunners to! Shouldnt take long for them to join this thread!
Think there are a lot of Staffy owners on this forum and I am sure a good proportion of them will own blues not sure the ratio but it is a normal recognised colour so a there must be some.
I own two SBT's,one black brindle - Meg and a pied dog - Tyler. We are hopefully having a red bitch in the not to distant future
There is a lady with a blue staff near me n she is gorgeous. apparently they are charging over the odd's for blue's as they are rare? Granted i have only seen a few but i didn't no the blue was rare xx I'd have one me thinks
Don't think they are that rare, do not seem that popular in the show ring so may be they are not a common colour or perhaps they are difficult to breed without other faults like eye colour etc.
There is def some people on here with blues staffys..they have posted some good threads about them, there dogs are stunning! Maybe they just havent been on for a while? Go to the search on dogey and search blue staffys...should have some posts or threads or some info. Hope this helps
I am sure there is a member with a blue staff as I remember looking at the pics and commenting how stunning the dog is , but for the life of me I can't remember who.
Yes, your right there is, Im sure it is sky_ .....? Cant rember the whole user name tho....Not much help am I!
Saffie the super dog....beautiful she is too! He knows alot about them to...you should pm him or hopfully he'll read your thread!
Yes your right, they are not rare. The standard calls for a Black nose and you won't get a black nose on a Blue because they are washed out blacks, dilute blacks, so therefore resulting in pigmentation faults, light eyes, light nails hence the reason you don't see them in the ring.
Staffy are lovely dogs!! i dont think blues are rare at all not sure why epople charge more ive seen some for £900 but ive then seen the other colours for £175!!! crazy!
someone round from us has some,, they breed them, seem to get quite a high number of blues out of there breeding x
That is why there are not many in the ring, knew they are a recognised colour so did wonder if other faults came into trying to breed dilute, it often does. On the other hand I could not see why they would be unusual, may be they are just not tried for unless you have pound signs for eyes that is.
As with everything in life there are always those that are willing to pay ott prices to get what they what. Top/Good Breeders don't breed for Blues but they do sometimes get the odd one or two in a litter.
hi, sal does your staffy get on with other dogs? ive been told you can never trust them around other dogs and the next dog i get i want to be able to let off the lead with other dogs etc as the dogs ive had so far have not been too good with other dogs
