I would also recommend checking that the huskies are pure siberian huskies. there are a few unscrupulous breeders in the london area who are breeding malamutes in with their huskies but selling them as pure huskies and kc registerd. why do they do this? to gain a more stockier puppy and the "snow dogs" look that the genral public so want to buy.

"Why do they do this ?"

I guess the same reason that you cross Huskies and Wolf hybrids !

    From your own Website :

I don't really think you're in a position to be slating Husky breeders who crossbreed, looking at your own website !

I have to say.. I would NOT buy from a BREEDER who had other dogs who they openly advocated breeding crossbreeds from..simply because I could not trust the fact that I am actually buying the breed I wanted..without any added "extras!

What I mean is simply that a flashy website says more about the breeder's technical skill (or bank account) than about the quality of their dogs or their ethics. Unfortunately nowadays people can often be taken in by superficial "bling" and miss the warning signs behind the flash presentation.

Strange comment! - living in London and running the biggest national Siberian Husky Welfare organisation in the UK, I would have thought we would have come across this phenomenon if it exists, but it is not something we have come across at all. Plenty of unscrupulous breeders, yes, but none breeding crosses and trying to pass them off as purebred. In fact, most of those breeding husky crosses seem ridiculously proud of themselves and advertise and promote them as crosses or "new breeds" - charging more for their "designer" crosses than reputable breeders get for well-bred, health-checked pedigree dogs.

On the alleged reasons for these dodgy crossbreeds - to achieve a "snow dogs look" - it is ironic that we are currently working with a Huskamute puppy with aggression problems which was rescued by friends of ours and I have to say that he looks nothing like "the 'snow dogs' look" - for a start he is absolutely HUGE - at 5 months, already bigger and heavier than our biggest adult male husky. He also has a loooong nose (bad breeding on the sibe side) and a really wide earset (from his Mal side) - Wide-set ears are OK on a Malamute, but a serious no-no on a Sibe (especially the US show type, which is what I presume you mean by "snow dogs" look).
I suppose it might be technically possible, if you bred excellent examples of both breeds together, to get a chunkier, well coated hybrid, but any knowledgable person would suss out the fact that they are crossbreeds immediately, and in any case, no breeder with good quality examples of either breed would ever dream of crossing them.
