Melzy, it has nothing to do with a competition over who's travelled the farthest, its simply advising that a good dog is worth travelling for, and the best breeders won't care where you live, yet you used that as an excuse to go and visit breeders BEFORE a pup was born, and said you would only visit when they were there !

You seem very confused about what you actually want, a rescue, a pup, a young dog, from a breeder etc, and I would suggest that you take a step back, do lots of research and be willing to do the legwork, and you will get the pup you want. :001:

    Hi Melzy,

Did you manage to call any of the breeders who's details I pm'd you yesterday - think that would be your best bet now I realise that its not till summer you want your new family member

If you are still thinking of second chance - I would really consider phoning them rather than emailing and just keep phoning till you get an answer (shows your commitment which is, after all, what a rescue wants to know you have  )

    Good luck

I think you confused most people Melzy, by your post, sorry it sounded like you wanted one now, if you don't want one till July or September then you have plenty of time. So I would suggest then that you put out the feelers of when breeders are expecting thier litters, and go from there. As it's 3 to 5 months away before you want one.

What size "crate" (they're not called cages :D ) depends on your breed of choice..... :D

I think it depends what your intentions for the crate (cage) are !

Your intentions being.............if it's just for at home, some get one that's quite large for a dog, whereas if they want it for travelling, or showing etc they go for the smaller one's to fit in the car and on benches

if it has material its classed as a crate or plastic and if it is made of metal or steel its a cage yeh maybe it sounds harsh but thats what its called cause thats what it is .

Where are all the !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in these posts of mine ?

    Yes it is.

Those !!!!!!!!!!!! are exclamation marks, and I may have placed ONE at the end of a sentence, what is the problem with that ?

If you want to make friends, dont be so aggressive, all I did was give advice to you, and then explained about the intentions of the use of a crate, because you jumped down my throat, which again, YOU took the wrong way and decided to lecture me.

If you want to make friends, stop being so aggressive.

Melzy, go back and read the posts properly.

You asked what size crate. I asked what your intentions were, to which you jumped down my throat AGAIN ! I then explained that I meant it depends what you want the crate for. At no point did I correct you. No-one can recommend a crate size unless they know what you want it for, therefore I explained that. You then saw fit to 'educate' me on what different crates were called, NOW who's doing the correcting ?

I give up. You are very defensive and cannot answer a simply question rationally, so I bow out, for fear of yet another lecture on what you THINK I mean !

Personally I have two a fitted cage in my car & a slightly larger materiial type crate for when I leave her in the house. I wouldn't get one too big as they like the den feeling but do get one that if neccessary you can go on using when the dog is fully grown. Good luck with your search.
