mishka & kavik, a few pics to demonstrate how differently built they are, kavik now 13 months & mishka is 3 yrs. mishka a more stocky american type sibe, kav a more english built sibe. hoping to run kavik in bikejor classes in certain rallies next season as running well alone now as mishka lost interest AGAIN
Beautiful dogs. Kavik looks like a younger version of my Shadow (she's 9 now) Have you been to any ABSA rallies this season? The reason I ask is my daughter keeps telling me about this husky that looks just like Shadow. Just wondered if it was you! Ruth
not been to any ABSA rallies lately Ruth , mishka is more stocky than kavik, i prefer the build of kavik too, nice & lean, lovely racey shape.
"lovely creatures" They certainly are, but unfortunately this creates problems for the breed. The puppy farmers have discovered them and are breeding indiscriminately - churning out pups like there's no tomorrow - usually without any health tests. When naive individuals buy them without doing their research, they often end up in welfare. Since SHWA(UK) was formed in February 2007, we have taken in and rehomed 159 unwanted Siberians. The vast majority of these have been non-KC-registered and bred by muppets for no other reason than money. Through support, information and advice, we have also enabled hundreds of ill-informed and unprepared owners to keep their dogs, rather than giving them up to welfare. Some of the dogs we have taken in have been as young as 10 weeks old FFS!!! Saffy and Cassie were examples of pups that have come into welfare recently. Please encourage anyone looking for a Siberian Husky - whether a new puppy or a rescue - to do their homework first! Siberians are wonderful dogs and we could not think about life without ours, but they are not for everyone! These are some of our babies Mick
Both are gorgeous and interesting to see the different builds. Would love to see pics of them in action
Here's some of ours in action: ...and at a slightly lower pace, giving kiddies Christmas rides for charity Mick
