Hey, there are at least 2 people on this thread alone that have cats or small furies ;-)

Mel and Ju, I think you're gonna have to show some Mal & 'friends' pictures

Delta thinks anything small any furry goes under the name of dinner :D

Ju on the other hand ....now thats a different story :) She should post that pic of Noobs on the horse :D :D

Same here, Hudson had some seperation issues at first and wrecked a few small things but we learnt very quickly to pick things up out of his way so have never really had any pics of things destroyed :) Delta and Maddy have never wrecked anything ...touch wood LOL

My 2 live with a Bengal cat..Mo also has a cat too..as does the breeder of my youngest and we have a few friends who have both also..

I think the only reason Mo's pups destroyed the sofa cushion is cos she swanned off to America to the nationals without them:lol: I would be a bit p*ssed at that too:lol:

oh im LOVING this thread. I do love Mals so much,Ive met Julies Lovely Noobie & LUSH North. They are Fabulous dogs, i love the look of the rig too! (ex rider here too).Even though my heart is Firmly with the collies....there are a few tempting breeds out there! this is def right up the top of TEMPTING,tempting tempting!!! Can one Mal pull a rig of one person?

I see they are addictive as i dont think any of you lot that have posted pics just have ONE, do they need to live with other Mals as their pack? Are they happier that way? Do you think they would cope with Collies? (i know julies has Rocky)

Yes, a single Mal can pull a rig and compete under most clubs (not the SHCGB though). Obviously the musher will have to help a 1 dog team but several people run a single Mal :)

They don't need to live with other Mals, I know of several 1 Mal families (although most are planning on adding a second at some point  ) or whom have a Mal with another breed. We have an Aussie and he gets on great with the Mals :) He also loves running on the rig  (I'm trying to find a photo of them on the rig that I can chop myself out of  ).

we have a cat, but the cat HATES the dogs even when koda was a little pup teeko would go nuts at him so the cat keeps well away, we had a hamster living in the kitchen and koda would just watch him play in his wheel the only time koda would bat the cage with his paw was when he was tired and indie was being too noisy lol

I love the Aussies. We used to live by someone who had a little herd of them and I always went out of my way to say hello to them, they are gorgeous........For some reason it's the colouring and markings that I find so attractive, stunning dogs

Which came first., Mal or Aussie.

Its funny (well not really but you know what i mean) in terms of size ,bone etc i guess the ASD is to the BC what the Mal is to the Sibe!

    I love aussies...& mals!

I dont really like Merley Collies apart from the odd one, but really like Merle Aussies!

Yes one Mal can pull a rig - and one Mal and one collie pull it even better :) If you ever fancy giving any of yours a go - I have harnesses that would fit your lads :)

Mine love collies ..... I often walk then with 8 or 9 of them :) I think this is why mine have such good recalls :) :)

They just love company full stop - human, dog (they aren't breedist) or rodent in Noobie's case!!!
