Right cheyenne you want the truth about that breeder and how we got our dogs here you go.

Firstly we chose sacha from photographs. The photographs we were sent of sachas mother (admitted by the breeder later) were showing her with her head down and not showing the floopy ear.

We travelled from the west of Ireland to England to collect our pup. On arrival at the said breeders house we almost turned around due to the state of the place. My husband told me not to go to the toilet as I would be horrified.

One thing I will give this breeder is that she can talk. We later found out that all the talk is just that. I will not dispute that I am happy with our dogs as we are extremely happy with both of them. The reason we decided to purchase another from this breeder was due to the fact we were so happy with Sacha and the stories she told about other breeders that later proved to be complete untruths.

With Liadan our second puppy we paid for her long before her birth due to the breeder pleading poverty and could not afford to feed her dogs.

btw I did on future visits go and visit the said toilet and have absolutely no way or describing it. You have probably seen for yourself

i don`t know the genetics of this condition... but females do carry things that are only passed onto males.

But that`s neither hear nor there... it`s the bitches breeder i`m calling into question.

Yes there are diseases carried on the female line that only become apparent on the male line but not when it relates to the gender of that dog, that is determined by the male only.

There is a thread here somewhere, where newbies can go and look at their chosen potential breed and look to see which medical issues are in the breed and what tests are needed for the breed from reputable breeders.

Would anyone from the NI world care to contribute to that thread, stating that there is HD, HC, Monorchism, Separation Anxiety etc ?

I would also like to ask why are eye tests not done on them as they are in the originating breeds, as HC is just that....hereditary ?

Oh and Cheynne, Yes I do have a vet report for Silver Shadow, it took a long time to face the vets and talk about what happened to him as we were very attached to him and it hurt tremendously to loose him. I have discussed this with the NIS for their health records for the breed.

As has been pointed out if the intention wasn't to create a wolf like dog then why are there wolf images on both clubs sites and a lot of NI owners have wolf in their user names?

    I agree !

If people have a problem with a breeder, and they are really that bad, then why were they not reported to someone, or the authorities ? If they were that bad, why go back and buy from them again ? YO arent seriously saying that it was because your current dog was so nice ?

This could go on forever  I think it might be best for us all to agree to disagree, and leave it there. As people have said this is not good for our breed :-(

Also I would like people to explain to me why they are supporting someone who has animal cruelty convictions.

I agree but sometimes when you have committed to buying a pup and have fallen in love with it you see it as rescuing the pup I guess.

I see, well we love wolves and thought werewolf/ladywerewolf/werewolves were amusing names. Ref the wolf look they have been at times advertised as wolf look alikes and some people still do this. Ref the logos I cannot answer that, it is beyond what I know.

Yes I agree but I'm sure we all have made mistakes at some point. How I see it is thankfully our girls were taken away from that dreadful place and have both turned into great dogs.
