i wasnt sure where to post this, so please move it if its in the wrong place! can you get diff colour dobs?? i have seen some blue & white ones! they said they were rare?! and ive never heard or seen these before?! are they real?! lol?!
Yep, 5 colours in all. 4 of which are recognised which are black and tan, liver and tan, blue, and fawn also known as Isabella. White or cream is controversial and not recognised.
there were white ones a few years ago sure i read about them and the problems re hearing etc may have been bred out i suppose.
never knew you could get blue or fawn! well you learn something new! only even seen black or livers, on a blue and fawn is that a olid colour or do they have the usual dobe markings?
Blue is really a grey with the same markings . They are gorgeous as pups as they are a deep gunmetal colour but it fades as they get older and some can look very washed out. The Fawn is a beige colour with the same markings.
wow!! i cant beleive i never knew this!! they looked cute, but i dfont think you can beat the black & tan & chocolate & tan! S
I love the blue ones, they are mega cute when the are puppies like wee hippos, xxxxxxxx Anyone got any pics of one just for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, pleeeeeeeeeese, xxxxxxxxxxx
Blues are the dilutes of B+T and fawns are the dilutes of the brown dobes I believe. I found this out when looking into minpins as they have the same colouration.
If only the blue stayed the deep gunmetal colour I could be very tempted I have a friend with a black, a blue and a fawn. the blue and fawn are both rescues.
Hehe I'm a bit like that with dallies.. really fancy a blue dal! I didn't know there were so many colours of dobies - is there anywhere I can see them on the web Trouble? I know a website that has all the dalmatian colour variations so would be cool if there was one for dobies.
As we are talking about preferences I have a soft spot for the Blues and the Fawns, though I have never seen a Fawn in the flesh just pics.
Blues and Fawns don't have such good coats either, they seem to be a bit sparse. The white Dobes are, as already pointed out, controversial. They seem to be more popular in the states as opposed to the UK. They also seem to have quite a few medical problems, one of which being an eye problem. There is a link here if anyone is interested. http://whitedobes.doberinfo.com/
