Colours/ Markings (Bcs)etc General Chat

Hi, thought id do a nice easy going post for everyone to say what colours they prefer & what markings they like!

Personally me 1st preferance is Black & white.

I like them Quite Dark, which a nice Blaze, White Front legs & white short socks Behind. Im not really Bothered about a full collar, but do like a good white Cheast.
I really do like the Symmetrical too!

I do like most Tris, i prefer the Tri to be Blond rather than Orange & like "delicate" tri on the eye Brows (other wise i think they look cross) I prefer less white on the tris , trickle of a blaze etc, OR more white, Wider Blaze HUGE ruff etc!

Merles, i much prefer Blue & Slate to red merles. I like Merles to either be very Dark, "a dirty merle" with big coloured Patches of colour, Or very white Factored, with alot of white on the Face.

I do like Mismarks & white Faces, But again like them Symmetrical, Ie White face , MUST have eyeliner though & two dark ears but then alot of Colour on the body/

My preference for coat length and colour is a black/white "classically" marked rough coated dog. I also like tri-colours, again rough coated.

Out of the dogs I and my OH own, these are the two boys with my favourite markings





Obviously though, regardless of colour and coat-length, we love them all the same :-D

merley merley merley, with the occasioanl black and white - next will be another merley but not for a few years yet

Oh crikey, now I'm on the spot. I personally have black and whites, the ole classic. It was my dream to have one. I like the traditional markings, white blaze and collar a must LOL.
I love the red and whites as well, proper dark conker colour, mind you the Aussie red and white, very rare over here, are stunning.
With regards merles, I'll be honest, I previously was never keen on them, but over the years I have come to.
As I show mine (which is black and white dominated) I have to say it's lovely to see the different colours in the ring. I love the variety

hmm, ive been giving this some thought and despite all the collies we own and know ive decided the perfect collie that i would love to own is blue merle with a half black face and butt, with three black dots on the nose, preferably a dog with a rough coat, medium sized with a lovely temperement, great health and capable of working and cuddling... hmmm... arent i the lucky one!

I never mentioned red/white. There are some great red/white dogs around too

Not a huge fan of merles I'm afraid, although have seen the odd one I like.

I like black and white and red and white, more colour on the face than white.

I'm actually not that keen on blue merles, even though that's what mine is! Mind you, he's not a proper blue merle, his coat is actually tinged with a rusty colour. I don't know why.

Australian Red is LOVE. I would so love to have one one day. I also love Sable, and Red & White, and blue merle tris.

I actually adore mismarked dogs, especially half-faced dogs, I think they look so unique and gorgeous. Basically, I love all colours but sable and Australian red are my faves.
