can anyone help,im keeping two bitch puppys out of my latest litter, and am really struggling for pet names for them.normally im quite good at picking names but not this time,id like native american indian names or eskimo type names.anyway please help puppy one and two need proper names.
I got Tikaani's name off this site. Hope it helps... http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/names/eskimonames.htm
I just had a quick look on that site as well, and was wondering if the translation to English was important
I think its more how to say it and how it sounds when recalling. I couldnt imagine calling some of them never mind trying to pronounce them.
hi, I went on there as well to find a name, then I downloaded a translation dictionary, I think it was this one but not sure. http:// www.freelang.net/dictionary/inuit.html
The few I'd short listed for you are Kaya Shadi Miksa Nauja Nukka Kinina (I think that was what it was, couldn't read my writing ) But steer clear of Akkikiktok Bllsaiyowag Iknigpalagaq Lrdlirvirisissong
I was going to suggest joining those two together because it would sound lovely then realised it would sound rather similar to my T`Akaya`s name, one track mind or what :smt005 If it helps at all though, the start of a name can actually be a help with training, a crisp clear first letter starting a name is good for attention getting and does seem to make a difference compared to softer letters which can be easily mistaken or missed altogether, especially at a distance [ not sure if I`ve explained that well at all :? I know what I mean even if no one else does ]
thanks yes i do know whaat you mean,i also want the two names to be compleatly diferent, not like taya and kaya,as the two pups will live together i want to make sure they have there own identity.
I watched a programme on Husky racing years ago and one of the dogs was called Tullik (pronounced Toolik). I've always loved it, but it turns out the translation is "yellow billed loon"! Although being NIs it's probably appropriate!
Sorry, I meant joining those two up as one name [ Teyakaya ], then realised it would be like very my girls name, [ which is pronounced Tak-eye-a ], hence the one track mind there ;-)
http://www.puppydogweb.com/names/single.htm try this and follow the links but becarefull there advertising puppys forsale.
