She is beautiful, I'm very excited but I've still got to wait till September which seems forever away, have booked her a place in a clicker training class already, and have bought most things so feel I'm ready for her now just waiting and waiting and waiting. I'll feel a bit better when they are born in two weeks time and I know there are girls in the litter. The breeder took the mother for a scan on Thursday and the vet said there are about 5 to 8 pups inside but as I've been told theses scans are often wrong so will have to wait and see. So I'm asking everyone to keep everything crossed for me ;-)

Good god! Why on earth would you want all that information?

I believe the OP has already said that the pup is coming from Lorraine ..and also which dogs are the parents

    Lorraine shows AND works

    Yes

Quite a while ..much longer than some others ;)

Whose pup is coming from Lorraine!!
As far as I was aware it was Cyrus' pup.. not Vicki (OP)

And I didn't want all the answers I was pointing out it was questions you should ask your breeder.. and hopefully they should be able to answer YES to them ALL not just some!!!

I don't beleive the OP has ever stated where her pup is coming from

The pups coming from "snowjacques" Louise. :)

Dam Snowshoes Enchantress (aprox 2.5 yrs old) - Unproven in the ring and this is her first litter (i believe)

Sire Loryspride Celtic Chief of Celticwolf - Proven

Both have been hipscored and eye tested.

I wasn't giving any interrogation and no one should be scared of those questions.. whether they be breeder or potential puppy owner...

They should already have been asked anyway...

Well if you hadn't been removed you would know wouldn't you ;) :D

My point was that Louise fired the questions as though the person was under interrogation LOL I felt sorry for the poster[/QUOTE]

I think if you remember I was "removed" because I would not keep my mouth shut on a certain matter, whereby you continually deleted my post so as other members could not see what I had said, I was given a choice to either stop with that post or my membership would be cancelled I chose to leave,;-) but that is irrelevant here:grin:

I guess when questions are asked on a forum like this sometimes they come across as being said in a different manner to which they are meant, its never the same as talking face to face and asking the same questions.

How do you know this mating was going to produce a nice Pup Vicki ? What evidence do you have of that ? Only the stud dog shows, the bitch has never been shown or bred before ! On that basis I think even good breeders would have a hard job predicting that one !

The health tests have been done, but what else ? What other 'work' has been done to make things right ?

Did you do any research into the history of the Dam and the Sire ? I already know the answer to that !

I'm not having a go at you at all. I'm merely trying to point out that if you wish to brag about a new puppy, that's fine, for anyone, but when you brag about the breeders' ethics and how hard you have researched, when clearly it isn't so, you are bound to get critisism from somewhere !

I wish you luck with your new pup, and hope she is everything you wanted :smt001

I came on this forum to share with people the excitment of getting a new pup. I made one bad comment and you'd think I had murdered someone!!!! Im going to give a dog a loveing home and make her a part of my family. I have said over and over again that Malamute owners are very passonite of the breed, but that dosen't give you the right to publicly have a go just because I've never owned one before . I've worked along side dogs from leaving school I have seen first hand what happens from the result of puppy farmers.I've worked at manchester dogs home, I now do some work with the RSPCA in cornwall rehoming all kinds of animals,Igo to people's home's and vet them. I've got a deploma in animal welfare, however I didn't think I would have to explain the in's and out's of my life to people on here, yes I have done my home work yes I do know the in's and out's of the breeder and the stud dog owners. I went over last night to see the breeders of my pup to see how things were coming on(and ask some questions that I was asked on this forum and others)
I understand (as I've said over and over again) that there have been some bad breeders in the malamute world christ theres an example not to far away from us, but everyone has to start somewhere EVERYONE!!!!!
I have got everything ready for my pup she's even booked in for one to one puppy classes in September and she's not even born. I'm not going into this lightly I know what I'm in for but do you know what? I can't wait!!!!
If there's anything else you want to know like what shampoo I use or what brand of toilet roll pm me.

Vicki, no-one has asked for the ins and outs of your life, as far as I'm aware !!!

I didn't ask if you knew the ins and outs of the dam and sire's lives either, I asked if you had done as much research as you claim into the history of the dam and the sire of your pup !!!

Like I said, I already know the answer !

Vicki, I stated I was not having a go at you, but pointing something out, and from your angry reply, it seems that all is not what it seems, or you would be happy to talk about these questions.

I personally have nothing against the breeders of your pup, nor the owner of the stud dog, but you cannot come on a public forum, holier than thou, claiming to have done X amount of research, when you clearly have not, or you would know the same information as the rest of us.

We have all made mistakes, somewhere down the line, we learn from them.

    Good luck !

    Ditto...

It would seem some people are happy to just get a pup...

Sadly not everyone has high standards.. and want a pup from parents who have been proven in either work or show..or from breeders who have proven themselves by bringing up dogs of both sexes so they can advise..

Oh and seeing as you are new to Dogsey and clearly don't like what I am saying.. I am sure there is an "ignore" button somewhere and it just hides anything I say..

An Ignore button Lou, is there really ? I didn't know that ?

I agree though. If you just want a pup and dont worry about the background of the dog, fine, at least you dont claim any different.

I was trying to say the same as you I think Lou. If you claim to care about the background, dont try to fool others into bragging about dogs, that others have probably researched more and know different about. :smt002

    I think !

Yeah I am sure there is.. No one has ever bothered me enough to seek it out tho....

Yes..it is worrying though is when other people know more about the background of "your" dog that you do...even after all your research:roll: ...

I guess it depends on how much people "really" want to know !

All the info is out there if people look hard enough and ask the right questions.

I am more then happy to talk about my pup, thats what I came on here to do. It's just the way some questions were asked I felt that as someone else put "interrigated" over the subject. I came on her for advice from people like yourself. The breeder of my pup doesn't live to far away from me, and I've known them for many years. I didn't want to disclose any information about the pup at first because she hadn't been for a scan I didn't want to tempt fate, I wanted to make sure all was ok. What would I have felt like telling you all in fact there will be no pup, bit upsetting for me.:smt009

    Vickinicks,

please try not to take offence from lousie and Malady. With sooo many new people coming into the breed, others are concerned about the reasons as to why (which obviously you understand :) ) God knows iv had to fight for respect from some mally people and i havnt even got one yet LOL From all the grilling i have had - i can see and understand why!

Unfortunatly some people are all to happy to buy a pup which "seems" ok from a "visual study" and questioning (we can all give the right answers when we want!) BUT not enough has been done to look into the breeding lines of the dog. :-( You may think the lines are not important becuas eyou have not intentions of working or showing, but in my veiw they are. Each line will have its own type of dog/personality. Some of which are like Jekyll and Hyde.

I know of one owner who adores her pup to bits but has stated that she SHOULD have looked into the breeding some what more as he can be a handful. Luckily this dog has strong owners who deserve the respect of their dog and have earned it. This is where concern steps in. Can you cope with such a dog??? - You have also said you MAY wish to breed in the future - will it be from your said pup?? If you havnt studdied the past, how will you know what to expect in the future ;-) but at the mo thats by and by...

Im sure you are educated in the breed and are not going into it lightly, but i always think all avenues should be covered for the sake of your and your dog :)

Anyhooooow... Keeping my fingers crossed your puppy is in there somwhere! and make sure you keep as all posted (on both forums!) on her development!!

    Thank you for your reply:grin:
I did say that I may like to breed form her which was a careless comment it was something that had briefly crossed my mind, but I will NOT being doing this as soon as she's old enough I will have her spayed and thats a promise.
I would love to go into showing and I'm going to get involved in that for sure although not really sure where to start on that one had a look on the internet for show's close to home with no results. This will all be new to me showing/working but I'm looking forward to getting involved and the challange. We already own a neo Mastiff who let me tell you and I'm sure any Neo Mastiff will tell you can be hard work and he's weighing it at 13stone now and on his hind legs can put his head on top of mine!!!!!! He's a very strong dog and has an on off button. I had to show him who's boss in a firm but fair way let me tell you it was very very hard but worth all the work we put in. He's turned out to be an amazing dog gentle (but clumsey) loving and a delight to own. I realize that it's a diffrent breed but what I'm trying to say is I WILL put all my energy in to this dog.
I have made a few silly comments granted but no because I'm a stuiped person just because I'm excited and I wasn't prepared for the back lash I got I was surprised to a degree but I understood the reason behind it. I've always always wanted this breed of dog but work comitments, children not a big enough house etc etc have stopped me from getting one. Over a computer these people can't see me or the things I have done to get ready for my new arrivel. I look forward to showing her off to you all.:mini:
