Ok, so I signed up with the humane society to foster puppies and I'm fostering two 7 week old chow mixes. I was wondering if anyone might have an idea what else they're mixed with?
I was thinking Chow shepherd mix. But with those floppy ears, Im not sure. But since their puppies, do their ears seem like they will go up or stay floppy?
Well, I think chows can have floppy ears. And I'm not sure if their ears will go up or not. It's hard to tell because I've only had them for a few days.
What colour is their tongue? Chow mixes often have the distinctive blue tongue. The ear set is very similar that of to my Chow X. Very difficult to say what they are because, even if one parent is pure Chow, the other could pretty much be any breed/crossbreed. Very cute pups though
german shepard or leonberger maybe ,just a quess but they are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo adorable
They both have a spot on their tongue. What is your chow mix like? What do you think of chows? Are they good dogs? Cause I was reading some info on them and it said they are stubborn, strong willed and independent. Not my ideal dog personality honestly...
Lots of breeds can have spotted tongues so that in itself isn't conclusive of anything, unfortunately. My dog is Chow crossed with Rottweiler. I have always adored Chows but decided against owning one for all the reasons you mentioned. Our boy came about because he deperately needed a good home and his breed wasn't a consideration at all. I'd have taken any dog out of the kind of situation he was in. He is stubborn, strong-willed & independent so I guess he gets that from his mother He is wary of strangers and has a strong guarding instinct (possible the Rottie influence) but is one of the most gentle souls I've ever met. He is trained to a degree and is generally pretty laid back about life but that stubborn, independent streak means that he does what he wants, when he wants Having said all of that, I'd definitely be tempted to own a pure bred Chow ;-) This is him:
I would have thought Chow x GSD :? whatever they are though they are just stunning! big bundles of fluff
