    Cockers?

Since being on Dogsey I have fallen in love with Cockers...I never realised what such great dogs they were.

For those of you who have cockers, would you mind posting some photos here showing me all the different colours/markings (sorry, that's probably not the right terminology) there are... I never realised there was such a variety!

(not that I will probably ever own one, but they have really got me hooked :))

Our last dog was a golden cocker and he was so adoreable. They really are friendly dogs and want to love everything. Their little tails never stop wagging and they love nothing more than to sniff in bushes. Sorry no pics on my comp but just wanted to spread the love for the "merry cocker"

I must admit my aunt had cockers and they were never a dog that I would've considered owning, but Cocker Mum's lovelies have changed that. I think they are adorable..... and I told her too!

I love them, my sister has had them for years and has two now. I think if I did not love labs so much I think I would choose a cocker.

Lovely photos, I adore Cockers too, we had two of them when I was at home and I'll always have a soft spot for them, I've been tempted on more than one occasion to have another one.

Please don't apologise, this is exactly what I wanted, thank you so much :) . Until dogsey, I think I had only seen solid black or golden, blue roan and black & white.

I'm definitely not designed for getting into shows - I always seem to love the things that aren't acceptable:blush: (including of course my mainly white bc:lol: ) - I just love Diggie, Gracie and Tulula :smt049 :smt049 (the others are gorgeous too, but for some reason those 3 really really appeal to me).

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is ticking (is it the little spots of colour)?

    Thank you
Anything Chocolate (Brown) other then a chocolate roan is frowned apon within show circles. (at Crufts last year i only saw one Chocy roan all the rest were either golden or black solids and roans......)
I must say i like something a little different :) (although i adore Molly, Suki and Maggie :) )
I think i like these colours so much because of the pale noses and eyes i just love the chocolateyness' of them. Tulula's nose would pale to pink when she was heavely in whelp and then go back to brown once the pups were born.

Ticking- your right on the button. Diggory's freckles on his nose and perfect round dots (when shaved tight) all over his body are ticking.

I hope you don't mind if I correct you.
Liver/chocolate and all the variations aren't frowned upon in the ring as such, It's just that quality examples are few and far between, I heard that recently a solid liver won a best in show. Also ticking isn't frowned upon, it would be very difficult to find an 'and white' that didn't have ticking  .

Sorry if i said ticking was frowned apon i didn't mean to as i know this is not the case. it isn't Diggory's ticking i was refering to it is his general coat colour "chocolate".

Although i have been told at several shows that "chocolate cockers" aren't pure bred (not mine, just in general conversation) this is why i no longer bother to attend show's i love my solid chocy's and think they are perfect even if a show judge and other owners don't.

I had a feeling you didn't mean that ticking is frowned upon but just thought I'd check.

    I can't understand why someone would say chocolates aren't purebred :smt017 .
