I want your cat!! (always had a hankering for a Siamese) ;)

Have you been out walking yet with Anya, Dawn? I have been stopped every time without fail with people asking about Bo. The guesses people make when they try to figure out what breed she is are pretty funny. She also pulls like a steam train on her harness but is great off lead.

Dawn - that's brilliant! Anya is so gentle! Lovely video. I have a couple of Maine Coons. The one Grey was raised with sadly died in October and we now have two older rescue coonies. They don't mix with Grey as Rock did.

I don't want to speak too soon, but Grey seems to be better this week on lead training. It's the one thing I wish I could turn the clock back on. I let him sometimes pull and cross in front of me as a pupster because I wanted to socialise him after being confined for extra few weeks than normal and I quickly hit a problem when his weight ratio to mine increased.

Grey went scent training with his brother Gunner last week. Gunner is huuuuuuuge. He's much recovered from his diskospondylitis thank goodness. He's so much bigger than Grey is was startling. They both had a ball and Grey was very enthusiastic about the training. It's something we'll carry on with as he enjoyed it so much despite the rain.

Hi, thanks for your kind words, she's fab and is a real character and been really good to train, despite being influenced by a lively terrier, if i am honest i think she's the boss already!! She even came swimming in the sea with us yesterday! As bold as brass!! Causing a lot of interest out & about as there are no others over here This is still an early days photo, but i will get some of todays on here soon![IMG]

Thanks for all your comments it is lovely to see them all, i must get some up to date photos and will post soon, i don't think she is as big as your Bo! Although she dwarfs the terrier now. I must say she is the bravest puppy i have had and totally full of fun! Enjoying every minute of her!!

Just randomly....do Slovaks have a double layer coat or just a single one? I only ask because GWP's have double and yet Flynn only has a single layer. I was wondering if it came from his other side?

    Hi,
the Slovak has a very fine undercoat, which is shed in Summer, the outer coat is harsh, straight hair approx 4cm in length.
The hair is longer on the muzzel & eye brows & smooth on the ears :)

Looking forward to the Slovak Funday tomorrow held in Norfolk, will take plenty of photos & video.

    Hi Leanne,

Grey has a double coat and in general is quite hairy compared to some that I've seen. When I was at last year's funday I saw quite a variety of coat colour and texture. I think on this thread there is quite a variety too. In the slovakian pictures they seem to have variable colors as well. Grey has fluffier hair on his head than the rest of his body. His brother Gunner is much smoother and shorter haired. More like their dad, Evar. Grey in the face looks more like Clooney. I have seen some coats that seem thinner and almost fluffy that they show skin through.

Well, me and Bo had our first training class tonight. She was the only dog that ignored the formal recall (twice!) - oh la!!

    That she certainly did!

Our class compromises of 4 Labs, a Lab mix and a Labradoodle (nothing like a bit of variety, eh? :?), so she is the most 'exotic' breed to grace the class by a mile.
