So the standard will be changing yet again ?? I was recently told that a rough coat was acceptable also the tail may be curly during excitment as usually is...eye colour when I was looking into getting I n' K was yellow or amber this is changed too ?
so there are actual lines that are being bred from? its confusing because i remember seeing tamaskans advertised about a year back and they were gsd x husky x mal and again they were after a breed that closely represented a wolf im not trying to belittle anybody but doesnt this just make it easier for BYB because so long as their puppies resemble a northern breed they can pass it off as any breed they feel like? they could even think up a breed of their own
Its being updated not changed. Nothing has changed regarding eye colour or tail. Yes its normal for the tail to be carried high when excited especially boys ;-) Its chinese whispers if you have heard any different.
We are breeding to type now and the lines are being kept true. Cant speak about the Tamaskan as there is a ban on here about them.
ooooh stop posting such gorgeous pics, I CANT HAVE ONE!!!!! They are such an outstanding dog breed, ooooh you lucky owners out there,(love my JS also)
Love this pic I took of Laura's Tikaani... just annoyed withmyself for not getting his nose and lug in it too He's a beauty though eh
Thanks Ian, but you wouldnt believe how much mischief one big lump can get into. That dog you call a beauty can also be norty! Just taken after a bit of painting and gardening?? :?
kyektulu, This was the size guide that our breeder gave us, and as Luz has mentioned size is not something we can just choose, The breed is trying again to get KC registration and so size will no doubt be settled if and when that goes through!! And yes they are breeding Ni to Ni not still mixing types! ( we hope)
Ah well--if we're showing off our babies here's Stormlake Shady Lady last sunday four months old tommorrow
very cute pup... love her one little floppy ear :smt049 Here`s a floppy ear pic of Freya at 8 weeks old.. and her now (10 months)...
Gorgeous dog... but i don`t think i would mistake this one for an NI... he looks like a German Shepherd X
he is a gsd x husky, it was somebody that saw us out that said he was NI because thats all an NI was ive since found out from this thread that there are specific NI lines being bred from not that it makes a difference to me hes still my big softy
