My apologies to all you N.I. owners out there!!! Especially to one in the centre of Carlisle last Saturday!!! I absolutely adore the breed and would give anything to own one (sorry Willo and Kimi, love you too) however circumstances make it impossible so I just stare and stare at any I see, dont see many here in Cumbria, so if you see an odd bod staring at your dog ignore her cos ITS ME admiring your gorgeous breed,!
There are a few owners near Carlisle but they dont post on here. I too get stopped alot asking about them, its nice .
I love people admiring Vienna (and Murphy too lol) people stop me and ask about her all the time. A lot of people ask me if she is a husky though lol. But i have met a few people who have heard of the breed which is really nice! I especially love kids who want to stroke her cos she is so good with them and they adore her! Its great when you see a young child hugging your big (3 or 4 times the size of the kid!!) doggy and you see her 'hug' back - she wraps her neck around yours and leans her head on your back. I love my dogs!
Thanks for the replies, you have such beautiful dogs, next time I will approach the owners and have a chat and a hug of the dog if allowed, I do love my JS dogs too of course, could not be without them but your breed hold something special for me, ah well thanks again xx
That's the nicest thing I've heard You're more than welcome to come to sunny Kent and stare, chat and hug Luca as much as you want
Aww what a lovely post! I was half expecting another rant about the breed so its lovely actually getting a complimentary thread. I get alot of questions about jess but the closest I have come to someone knowing my breed was asking if Jess was a Ute. If your ever im my area your welcome to borrow Jess for an hour or so. lol
I try and take Lady out in town shopping to get used to the people and traffic but we can only walk a few yards at a time as everyone wants to fuss her
I saw my first NI in Tenby Pembrokeshire 3 years ago, i then as now thought them to be a beautiful dog. Now the proud owner of a 5 month old bitch called Tala. Agree whole heartedly with you they are a wonderful breed it's just a shame that a few people out there have to be so self opinionated about them. As with all breeds & breeders there are good and bad. But as yet I have yet to meet a bad one. (NI) If you are ever in Leicestershire you are welcome to come and say hello! Here's a piccy of Tala for you
hi i own a northern inuit and the thing what i can,t get over is when people say to me i used to have a german sheperd .i have to tell them it,s an inuit and they say what,s one of them
I saw one once (I think!) it looked like Lucky Stars Loki and was in the back of a pick up truck - if it was a NI/Ute, then pictures do not do them justice!
Yes we get the same, usually thats an unusual colour for a GSD! Thats when we say thats because its' not a GSD its an NI. Then they ask all about her and most seem really into them. And who couldnt be??
Freya is always being mistaken for a husky... i said to OH... we`ll have to get a sign round her neck saying " I AM NOT A HUSKY!!" LOL
Ian often asks me if it annoys me or do I feel good when people constantly ask about Brodie & Tikaani. I think Ive just got used to the blank expressions when I say they are a Northern Inuit. I used to go into a huge speel about them but the vacant nodding got me thinking 'they wont be taking any of this in'. I just now say 'Northern Inuit' like they 'should' know. Now I get the nodding like they 'do' know. People are funny
When Vienna was younger someone asked me if she was a border collie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was like what?! Ditto i hve also thought about getting a sign across my rear windscreen saying 'No im not a husky im a Northern Inuit' with a website address. As Vienna likes to give everyone 'the eye' out the back window and you can see people pointing at her and i just know they are saying 'wow look at that husky dog'
