Springer folk-do springer owners have a common look about them?

Sorry if i've put this in the wrong section!!
Right a question for you all...Do people who own springer spaniels have a common look about them?
Then reason i ask is today on walkies i was pottering down the field whilst the dogs had raced off ahead and by the time i realised, were already playing in the river. When i ran into this chap who had a pair of border collies with him...most lovely dogs BTW! and we were chatting, my dogs were still out of sight and playing in the river as allways :)roll:) when he said "Your a springer owner aren't you?"
my response was  Yes, how did you know-have you seen me walking here before?"
He replied "No me' lad, its just your caked in mud, wearing wellies, red faced, got a smell of the river and distlled water to you, hands are bright red from having the lead wrapped so tight around your hand, and have what looks like the remnants of a hedgerow stuck to your trousers-its a common look most springer owners have!"
A few mins later someone we usually see on walkies with a lab and a springer walked by..and sure enough they fitted the description too!!

So upon the rest of the walk i got thinking..and it would seem that every springer owner i have seen tends to have a similar "look" about them-senisble clothes that seem easy to clean, usually covered in mud/river water with something from a field or hedge stuck to them, and often walking aimlessley alone whilst their dogs are miles ahead and still racing!!!
So-do springer owners have a certain look about them?

I do think people who own certain breeds do tend to have a certain look about them...springer owners are usually as dazed and confused as the dogs i think!!

What was the question again? :?

Well, I dont wear wellies when I go. Although, I *am* usually covered in mud and holding a rather disgusting looking, rather soggy toy of some description, fresh out of the muddy edge of the river. Also, if Tigger is off lead he doesnt exactly, how shall we put this, trot alongside me!

So maybe theres a little truth in it. ;-)

I came 2nd in a "dog that looks most like it's owner" village competition a couple of years back, beaten by a standard black poodle whose owner had a perm!
My eldest is liver and white, and my hair is similar shades! I'm frequently found in wellies, smelling of fox poo, red faced, damp and have numerous sticky seed thing/grass glued to me.....I prefer to think of springers as highly intelligent, very loyal with a great sense of humour and the best looking around! xx

Yep having had Springers for years I gave up trying to look clean yonks ago!

The thing with Gundogs is they'll go out whatever the weather, the worse the better! But that's the best bit, cos you don't see anyone for miles when it's p*ssing down!

Never a truer word said Het, then again-you could also be like the siamese-slinky, sophisticated and graceful?

Ah yes very true-is most difficult dragging a stuck up terrier out in all weathers though!!
I really think we are apart from most owners...think when you purchase a fluffy, spotty little springer pup then you tend to sign an unwritten contract signing away any peace, dignity or ounch of sanity you had for the rest of your days!
They are a breed with that extra pizazz though!
