I rarely go to bed before 3am - but then again I rarely surface until after 10am and I frequently have to get Tikva up when it has gone noon!
I've always been a night person. My natural rhythm has always placed my deep sleep at around 4-7 am. If I have to wake up between those hours, I'm better off staying up all night. My retirement pattern is fairly loose: go to the bedroom between 11 pm and 1 am; go to sleep between midnight and 5 pm; wake up between 5 and 9 am; fall back asleep between 6 and 10 am; and get up between 9 am and 2 pm. I'm currently in my first wake up phase - I try to check forums and read emails and such during that stretch. Fortunately my dogs have all adjusted well to the schedule. Cat-dog and Tornado-dog sleep under the bed (it's a Cat-dog thing), but once I wake the first time, they go out and potty, then Tornado-dog comes and sleeps the rest of the time on the bed with me. He's welcome to do so all night, but he won't leave Cat-dog alone under the bed all night.
I am desperately trying to think of a response to that... ...but I am cackling with hysterical laughter instead!
Ahem... [clears throat]... you said, in message #1019 yesterday [Wednesday] at 4:16am [my time] My comment in response, was in message #1022 yesterday [still Wednesday] at 4:04pm [again, my time] so yes, my friend, of course it still counts! ...and I am still laughing!!!
If you can put up a new shed in four hours you deserve not only to be put in the Guinness Book of Records, but also a gold medal! EDIT - how is Eddie?
Not good news. Vicky has tidied the blockages and cauterised the growths but says the damage is much worse than she expected. I asked if it we could do a repeat in six months - she said, No, he won't make six months. He is leaking and sore, but he is gaining strength. Being a Beagle, he has eaten two meals and had drinks of water and soya milk. I knew it was coming, but you are never ready. We will just have to wait and see. He has come home with steroids, pain killers and antibiotics.
I'm so sorry about Eddie. I'm glad he did his beagle duty and ate two meals when he got home. He now needs a couple desserts. I hope he is able to enjoy whatever time he has left.
I’m so sorry to hear this Carole. I am happy to hear that he felt well enough to eat though. My heart feels for you, and Eddie and Merry. Our dogs do not live long enough. I do not know what else to say...
I am desperately sorry Carole - we go back a long way and have been with each other through good times - and at times like this - please give Eddie and Merry special hugs from me. xxx
