Hi there, our yorki is just over a year old he is very small not a tea cup size but definitely a mini. He is very skinny you can feel his spine and bones by his bum (thigh bones). When you pick him up though he has some weight to him. we took him to the vet as a puppy because of injections we also mentioned his weight and he said he was fine. He eats two meat packs a day and eats sausage treats all day long lol he just doesn't seem to gain any weight. He also has tones of energy which makes me think hes OK. Question is are any of your dogs out there the same? or should i look into it more?
Not sure what you mean by meat packs. Is there any carbohydrate in his diet? Meat and sausage treats doesn't sound like a very balanced diet to me.
If he is refusing to eat any more than this, I would speak to a vet. He could have a dental or general health problem. If he is a hungry boy, I would top up the packet meat that he is used to with a good quality Toy dog kibble, (a small pellet size). If he hasn't been used to eating biscuits, you might have to soften it to begin with.
