Summer is like an oven here. Super humid just to make us more uncomfortable. Hurricanes on occasion. Then winter rolls around—-great weather, but half the United States’ population comes down here to escape the ice and snow. It’s wall to wall people and cars. I lived here as a child. There were huge areas of forest and beaches with very few people. It WAS great. Our wildlife is almost wiped out. We are just another overcrowded place heading for extinction. We are taking the poor wild animal’s living environment to move people in. I feel really bad about that. It is what it is though. The Police have about half the officers they need. I HATE crowds! We made a mistake moving to this crowded peninsula. Now we are stuck here. Bedridden wife, I am too lazy and broken to move. PLUS Max has to have his running room, etc. I guess we’re stuck here. At least it’s not cold.
This afternoon the rain stopped, the wind has dropped, we have a blue sky - and even the SUN appeared! Not much heat, but grateful for what we have. I hope that is a good sign for everyone else too.
The newspapers are full of horrifying video clips - it must be so frightening for everyone involved. It really brings my silly moans about the minor flooding I had from the drains backing up into perspective. I am praying that you can all keep safe, warm and dry.
Thankfully not, but know people who have been affected unfortunately. But thanks for your kind words.
How is everyone doing now? Papers are now going on about snow causing schools to close, as well as more flooding. Keep safe... ,,,,, Will this winter ever end?
High winds, rain and low temperatures. Everywhere we go to walk the dogs is muddy, but nothing serious has happened in this area. How are things with you?
Dull, cold, and miserable here. There must have been a few breaks in the clouds as I have had some hot water - not enough for a shower though. Our schools are closed because of the situation and it has been a bit noisy... ...luckily it does not seem to bother Tikki but Nala next door was barking her head off.
I have just been watching a video of the water overspilling the dams, and some flooded areas in Wales. By Jove you must have had some torrential rain there! The power of the water is hypnotic. I'm hoping that it isn't too bad this weekend as we are showing near Worcester.
