@CaroleC no he doesn't tend to get mucky anything above his belly so we're quite lucky in that respect. But a mucky puppy is a happy puppy haha!
If you're lucky he won't develop an interest in going in the water! The worse one I had for water was Bogie the cocker spaniel. If there was no deep water he'd find a puddle and lie in it. All my Poodles have loved water, even in the depths of winter. Luckily my Chihuahua won't go near water - even on a hot day when the shallow bit of the river must seem very inviting, he won't put so much as a paw in. I'm quite pleased actually as he is so tiny that I would worry if he went too deep in case he was swept away!
It's great having another Pei on the forum ... Georgina was quite lonely being the only one! The photos are lovely, Chester's such a handsome boy. Georgina's convinced any water apart from the water in her bowl is a highly toxic substance and one spot touching her fur will result in her instant demise! Puddles are considered as lethal as IED's placed in the way by humans and she thinks any unsuspecting Pei who steps in one will disappear in a puff of smoke. The only way to avoid them is to carefully pick your way around them even if it means walking an extra 10 miles which is fine by her so long as it doesn't start to rain. Naturally her "water phobia" goes out of the window when she decides to chase the cat and comes in all soggy and muddy. But that's Pei for you!
Aww Georgina it's OK now, Chester is here to stay now haha! We think he is and he knows it!! Chester is very good with water and doesn't kick up a huge fuss when it's bath time. At least Georgina is keeping you fit and healthy with the avoidance of all those nasty, mucky puddles. Chester us the opposite and tries dragging you through them!! It's amazing how he's picked up some typical pei traits and not some others. He's a special and unique little man ha!
Thank you @Malka he's getting more mischievous too!! He's taken a liking to my slippers now!! No matter where I leave them he'll find them. Little monkey
It's when he starts leaving them out in the garden in the rain or snow that you will find it particularly irritating. I speak from experience.
What mum? Not another picture!! He's getting so big now and only 7 months!! Love this guy so much!! ♥️
Well you were right @Janet!! He saw the ducks and was off!! Managed to grab him before he got all the way in!! And I was only saying last time that he wasn't interested about going in the canal !!
Little monkey! I've just had to laugh at my pair! I went outside to see what they were up to and the two of them are sitting side by side in the middle of the veggie patch, watching the world go by!
Did you see the Shar Pei Best of Breed winner in the group judging at Crufts, Karen? He was a red, and I thought he was lovely, - really fit and athletic looking. He is on YouTube if you missed him.
