My Akita has reoccurring swollen front legs with bad pain. The doctors do not know what it is. They have tested for bacterial infection and fungal infection. She has even had a bone biopsy preformed with no diffinitive answer. Does anyone know of a dog or even an Akita with anything similar to these symptoms.
I wish I could come up with a suggestion Kenny, but your vet is really the best person to diagnose what is wrong. Is she elderly? Could this be a circulatory or an arthritic problem? I hope that the vet has her on something to help to control the pain. Best wishes, I hope you find out what is wrong soon.

Carole C. Thank you and my Akita is only 3 yrs. old. She is on pain meds though. The doctor said after taking X-rays, it is not arthritis. All of the professionals that have seen her say it looks like a fungal infection, but even after a bone biopsy, the results did not show fungus growth on the bones, but they did say it's possible it could still be fungus. We have her on fungal meds and antibiotics as well. We are trying everything.
Yes. It would be good to have a follow up on this case. I hope that your vet managed to find out what the cause was, and she is much better by now.
