Hello All, Baby Charlie, is growing like a wild weed after a good rain. It seems like everyday I look at him, he's bigger, and bigger, and bigger yet. Also everyday, I try to figure out if he looks more like his Mom (Boerboel), or more like his Dad (Bullmastiff), and I can't make up my mind. Some days I see the Bullmastiff, other days the Boerboel. So pull out your glasses my friends, and please give me your opinions....

Both. Body is mostly Boerboel build, nose leans more toward a BM. Both have about the same chest and jowl lines. Boerboel has a longer body length line a EM, which your pup has. Anyway you look at it he is a 50/50 mix and in many ways like each breed, take that along with those 2 breeds being closely related. Pretty sure you should see both.
@LMost Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them. You are right that the two breeds are closely related. I think the original Boerboel, might have been quite a bit different from the BB's that we see now a days. And even today, there are different lines, that look very different from other lines. Some BB's, are extremely heavy boned, short necked and muscle bound, making them look like tanks. Not sure what was thrown into the mix. Others, are well muscled but somewhat more proportionate, resembling some lines of Bullmastiffs. While others yet, are more slender, and you can really see the Rhodesian Ridgeback in their ancestry. ~Elana~
