Right I start from beginning earlier this year we bought a block of ex Corporation non construction bungalows from Penny Property Auction for just £150,000, once we paid the 10% deposit, [you have 28 days to pay the remaining amount] we put planning application in straight away to turn all 7 bungalows into just 1 big 6 bedroom bungalow & today a letter arrived to say that the application as been approved. [we have had to change things several times] So now I am going to have my dream home, first thing is to build a brick outer wall all around the non construction walls, then fill gap with insulation, next job is to demolish all inner walls so all we are left with is a shell, next is new roof new windows then the bedroom/kitchen/family room/dinning room/cloak room walls can be built, plumb in all ensuite bathrooms pipework/cloak room toilet/radiators pipes/kitchen pipework, plaster all wall then decorate & finally fit all bathrooms & kitchen. Work should be finish in around 18-24 months, then we will be moving into my dream home but on a very sad note I been told I am not allowed to order anything [kitchen/bathrooms] as I can't use a measuring tape I also not allowed to supervise the builders or my men.
Yes each bungalow as they stand at moment have 250 foot long back gardens & 20 foot front gardens [think its feet not meters]
Ah, but will you have enough garden space for all your gnomes? Seriously though, if you are ot allowed to order anything [kitchen/bathrooms] neither , are your men. what if the builders decide to install things that you do not like or are not suitable for you? If you are paying so much, whatever it is, plus having to pay for whatever work you need to make it into your dream home, surely you should have a choice as to what your kitchen and bathrooms will look like?
I can choose kitchen but not order it my men or builders will order it, I have already got paint for my bedroom spiced wine, I bought it for my now bedroom 2 years ago but then ended up painting it green.
I have still got unopened paint in the roof space that we bought when we moved in here, full of enthusiasm, 10 years ago. Nowadays, I feel it is just too much hassle to decorate rooms that we only use for storing valuable treasures, (otherwise known as junk).
Ah Tina - I misunderstood you [typical for me these days ] - I thought you meant the builders would choose kitchen and bathrooms units, and that it was they and your men who will not let you supervise! Duh
Yes that's why I have men as all I got to do is pick up a paint brush & hey presto my walls - door frames get painted.
No I meant I am not allowed to order anything - example being the turf I ordered for my home I am living in now, I wanted 20 square feet but I ordered 20 square meters of turf instead oops Yes got plenty of room for my small [big] collection of gnomes xxx
Ah, but how will your gnomes take to being moved, and what if one of your men does not approve of their new situation?
Gnomes are being moved by a specialized fragile moving company, they just don't know yet they are gnomes, well their advert does say we specialize in moving anything little or large that's precious & fragile & my gnomes are precious to me
Tina of a thousand gnomes - well if you gnew Tina like we love and gnow Tina, you will gnow why her men do gnot want her supervising.
Lets say over 100 maybe over 700 okay near on 1,200 gnomes but if my men ask only couple hundred Some of my more royal family gnomes Duke of Edinburgh on holiday, Queeny, Knight royal Santa & 2 corgis
@6RT'S HOLY CROW!!! That's a lot of gnomes. I must say, I'm rather partial to the two little pup statues dressed in the Union Jack. What little cuties.
