Woke up today with the left side of my face & neck all swollen [doubled the normal size] been to Doctors & they said I have an infected abscess & they have given me some strong antibiotics which include penicillin in them. Doctor as said if swelling gets worse overnight then I will be going to hospital tomorrow because I am a Diabetic & epileptic, [I can't eat anything solid due to swelling on face] the Doctors are worried I go into diabetic coma or have a epileptic seizure due to lack of food.
So sorry to hear this Tina. I hope you get better soon, and do not need K9's services. Try to keep eating - even if it's only something like egg custard.
Swelling is going down more & more now, but were swelling is its still red & puffy Side view of swelling Front view of swelling
Been back to Doctors & they are happy with the swelling still on face/neck, [has gone down a lot overnight] so will not have to go to hospital after all, instead they have given me even stronger antibiotics 625mg each tablet got to take 3 per day, never heard of these tablets before plus each blister pack of 7 tablets are sealed in foil pouches.
Do you think any meds you have for to take for your diabetes and epilepsy are doing whoopsies with the previous anti-b's?
Hard to say Malka only thing I have notice is my sugar level is going haywire one minute its 3.0 next its shot up to 28.5
Goodness me Tina, that sounds scary! Don't let K9 out of your sight. Glad you seem to be improving though.
Spent most of yesterday evening in A&E - my abscess started weeping just behind my ear, now my face as swollen back up again
Oh Tina, you must be so fed up! Are they going to drain it, or persevere with the AB's? Is your hearing OK on that side?
Went to hospital the nurses flushed water stuff through the drain, was happy with the clear fluid running out so removed the drain. However had a very bad night couldn't breathe & ended up back in hospital this morning I have to go back later for chest X-rays to see if I have something on lungs [I am guessing that's why] already had tons of blood tests & scans.
Oh Tina, I've got my fingers and toes crossed that everything is OK. Hurry up and get well soon. {Hug}.
Was plodded poked X-rayed, scanned, blood tests, camera shoved down throat & now just got to wait for all results to come in, before I know what is causing me breathing problems.
