I have a friend who lives 32 miles away in Derbyshire. I have just had a thank you for her Christmas card - which has arrived today!

That's royal mail for you I have now stopped using them & use UK mail instead, post Monday they get letter/card on Tuesday, post on Tuesday they receive letter/card on Wednesday so on, best part is if you post by 10am on Saturday & they receive letter/card by 6pm on Saturday.

Merry won a professionally taken photo at her show the week before Easter. I was told that it would be here in about a week. I emailed the photographer on Monday as the print hadn't turned up, and got a reply saying that he was surprised as he posted that batch last Tuesday. Yesterday he went to the local PO to investigate, and his packages were still on one side, unsent. Miraculously, it managed to arrive this morning!
Come back GPO, all is forgiven.

Have just checked for my nearest UKMail depot. It is in Stafford, 32.2 kilometres away.
Looks like I'm stuck with Royal Snail.

I share a mailbox with my neighbour as we both live at #7 - actually she is 7A and I am 7B because both bungalows are on plot #7 but there is only one box for #7 in the bank of mailboxes at the side of the macolet. And she will not get a key cut for me as "it is forbidden" BS.

So she walks over the road to the banks of mailboxes, walks back to her home, dumps the lot on the table and takes her mail one side, mine the other side. Then forgets all about them, and as she does not like to live alone, dumps herself on one of her brothers most of the time.

Yesterday she brought in bank statements from November and December, credit card statements from November, December and January - and as I do not and will not do any banking or financial things on line, I have to wait for the hard copies to arrive.

Lord only knows where the Christmas and birthday cards send by a couple of friends in the UK went.

    Thanks Tina,
We have a Co-op, but none of the others I don't think. I will have to have a Google.
