I have had slight accident {dropped a cast iron crock pot on me foot} so phoned my family & left messages on their answer machines/voice mail telling them I am cancelling Christmas {not really cancelling just wanted to scare them } due to broken foot [not broken just badly bruised] so one of them must take over & have the whole family over at their homes for Christmas. Oldest sister phones back & said I can't have everyone over has I just had new carpets laid. Second to oldest brother's wife phoned saying NO NO NO NO-WAY are we having the whole family plus their dogs over here. youngest sister phoned saying we can't have anyone here at Christmas as house is still like a building site [sister is redoing a very small 2 up 2 down cottage] One by one my brother's wives, sisters, nephews & nieces all phoned up saying they can't have everyone over at Christmas at their homes not bigger enough Am enjoying hearing their desperate scared voices Middle brother phones back, says how's foot I replied not to bad, he said can I take it then that foot not broken just bruised, me replied yes, brother said you're cruel scaring our siblings by telling them you're cancelling Christmas , but then said you're evil but I love you then said me & Diane [wife] plus our 2 daughters [that will please the 15 & 13 year old teenagers] will come over Christmas eve & help prepare the food for you. Me nor brother have not yet told the rest of family that I am not really cancelling Christmas, we are going to wait until Sunday night to tell them that it was a wind up
In the words of Dick Emery,( if you can remember him). Ooooh, you are awful - but I like you! Hope the foot gets better soon.
Yes me remember Dick Emery - I wished I could of seen their faces when they got message about me cancelling Christmas
That is hilarious, just reading it. I love pulling this kind of trickery but not everyone appreciates it.
It is probably that a good thing that we do not celebrate Christmas because December appears to have been deleted from the calendar.
Foot is black this morning but can walk just on it, but not telling my men that or they will take my lovely bells away
