Am glad Tikva is okay, when will her staples come out ? Its bit scary for them waking up after operation, specially as mummy was not there when she woke up xx

Not sure - I think Michal will take out her staples in 10 days but she does not seem to notice them. I do not think she even noticed Michal bringing her home!

But oh did she make a noise at the surgery before Ram knocked her out. A nice behaved puppy? Tikva?

You should've heard K9 when I left him to be neutered, anyone would of thought the vets were killing him, I stopped twice & was going to go fetch him but the nurses told me he be okay & he soon settle down, K9 was 3 years old when he was neutered it was the first time since I had him that he was separated from me.

Got a problem. It is called Tikva. She woke up this morning, early, BITING. Well, she has stopped that now - I think

I hoiked her up on the bed and she bit me again. Tthink it was stupid some time. So chucked her off,has some more sleep and where was she?

In her crate, closed, fast azonk.

And she still will let me look at her tummy.

I'm glad she has not been bothered by her spay - tough little beggars aren't they? Perhaps she will fall asleep on the sofa or your lap, and you will be able to sneak a quick peep at her staples. I don't envy Michal the job of removing them if she is such a livewire.
It is surprising that vets use such different techniques for closing wounds these days. Although Merry was older, and had had litters, her wound was only about 1 inch long, and was closed with a very fine continuous oversewn stitch - it was dead easy to remove!

She'll settle again, Malka. She's just had a big change and so is still adrenaline fuelled, but she'll calm down again soon.

She is barking at me - bites - and has decided that she wants FOOD. Her evening food is human toddler feed which seems to suit her . But she only ate a bit and then bit me when I took the bowl away.

She just is not her. But she will sleep on me on the couch - sleeps all night in her crate but she is not her.

I do not know how to explain it. I did try to look at her staples - was not too happy but I am sure they will heal.

I still think that she was just too young to have been spayed but basically she seems to be fine.

    I hope..

I very much doubt it is the age she has been spayed but rather that she has had a big upheaval - taken to a strange place, you not there, being transported without you there and, of course, the op itself.

All that is enough to put her into a bit of shock and fuel her adrenaline levels. It's going to take a few days for her to settle, but she will x

@Chris B - 4am eep eep eep wanna poo. Get up, open crate, she rushes through and poos on a puppy pad. Back to bed.

5am eep eep eep. Wanted to pee but she will and does do it in her crate which has a pad in it.

Nope - eep eep eep - wanna do it on the pad in the salon.

6am eep eep eep. And then more eep eep eep getting louder and louder. Wanna do another poo and when I have done it I will bite your feet.

I was too exhausted to go back to bed - I think - so I woke up with a mini Monster on my back - on the couch.

I went with her - she was in her carry bag and stayed until she was intubated and Michal brought her home in her carry bag. I did not leave her until she was totally out and Michal said she was fine when she came round. She definitely seemed fine once she was home.

Tikva was back to normal almost immediately she was home. Actually I have no idea what "normal" is for her unless it means growling and biting and throwing toys around. Also throwing the bed cushion around, not that she sleeps in it these days - the couch is so much better, and of course she sleeps in her crate at night.

What worries me is the way she races about, jumping on and of the couch - racing along it, jumping over the arm of the recliner and then over the other arm to the chair under the window. And then stands up to look outside. I am sure that it is not much good for her staples

Dogs are very clever & even Tikva will not do anything that will pull on her staples, she will know what she can & can't do [jumping] that will not hurt her/will hurt her

So if Tikva wants to dance around on her hind legs then I should just ignore it? Michal brought a small cone for her but I did not put it on as she seemed to be ignoring her staples. Her tummy where the wound is seems slightly swollen and feels slightly warm but looks OK and the way she is chasing about it obviously cannot hurt her. I have only been able to have a quick look at it and feel it and am still not sure whether she has two or three staples.

She has now found the cone and it is in pieces.

That puppy is a right little booga.

Tikva will not stand on her hind legs if it pulled on her tum (staples)
Dottie was racing around the day afte she was sprayed but Ziva was very quiet until her stitches were out, my vets said some dogs are pain sensitive after operations others are not, am guessing Tikva is one thats not pain sensitive just like Dottie was.
