Hi there, My first post and already I am looking for members help. I have a wonderful 2.75 year old male wolfhound called Flynn and I am looking for a "home from home" type dog boarder in the North Yorkshire area. Like all wolfie owners you only want the best for your pet, I know kennels would drive him mad and wondered if any owners could recommend an experienced wolfie enthusiast that might fit the bill.
I wouldn't advertise in your local paper as I'd want someone more qualified and reliable and newspaper ads are more likely to interest perhaps more inexperienced people. I've found a home boarder through this site before - https://uk.dogbuddy.com/ But there are numerous companies throughout the UK who offer home boarding services. Off the top of my head http://www.barkingmad.uk.com/ is one such company.
Try Googling Animal Aunts. They are a very long established company. I wouldn't trust anyone who hasn't got insurance and testimonials - unless they are personally known to you.
A lot of just starting out professional pet sitters scan the local paper, it's how a small family run business called "pets hotel service" started here in Derby, they started up last year & are now fullly booked until next June.
Neither would I, I would be very careful about advertising something like that, try and talk to people and ask around for recommendations, ask at your vets they sometimes have people they could recommend.
I may have the answer...... Barachois Irish Wolfhounds are in North Yorks and May be able to help. Give Debra Greenwood a call. http://www.barachois.co.uk/about-us/
