I have confused my 3 year old nephew & 5 year old niece

:D Sometime last month I looked after my great nephew & great niece who are 3 years old & 5 years old.
Their mum told me the only veg they will eat was peas & carrots, only I didn't have any in freezer so told the little ones at dinner that because they had been super good, I was going to allow them to have some of my magical peas & carrots (sweetcorn & parsnips) I told them my magical peas were yellow & my carrots are white :)
they ate every single magical veg on their plates, but their mum & dad dropped in today, asking about my magical peas & carrots, they said you fed them strange coloured veg & now they won't the peas & carrots we put on their plates.
By now I am :043: rolling about the floor laughing my head off & went to my freezer to get 2 packets of my "magical veg" my nephew was stuttering they are sweetcorn & parsnips his wife thankfully saw the funny side, I was told very firmly not to confuse their children anymore & not to give them any more "magical veg" without asking my nephew or his wife first, I had real sad look on my face :( & said not even magical cabbages (sprouts) they both yelled NO together, then just before they left they said you not been giving them any other "magical food have you" o_O well they did have purple potatoes & chicken that was pork chops, before anyone could say anything I did remind my nephew that 30 years ago I was changing his nappies :) they then left to go & fetch their children from their Nanny, somehow I don't think I be baby sitting my great nephew & great niece anymore on my own.

I do that type of stuff to my kids. For example they think Granola Bars are candy bars. Perhaps you should have told their parents just so they would be in the loop but I don't see why they were upset.

They weren't upset as such just that they couldn't understand their children, when they were saying magical veg, plus they couldn't get their children to eat anything unless it was magical.

Can't wait until they come to visit on Boxing day as they going to be eating magical trees (broccoli) & magical white bushes (cauliflower) with purple potatoes (nephew wife hates purple potatoes) with magical beef Wellington (its salmon) I like to have lots of colour on my plate, then for afters we are having pumpkin pie with homemade blue custard.

As long as the children eat and enjoy vegetables, at those ages does it really matter if they are called magical?

The fact that they are eating, and enjoying vegetables is far more important than what they are called, IMHO.

We got rainbow trifles for tea - green jelly, blue custard & red cream on top (Great British Bake Off & Great British Menu as a lot to answer for my multi coloured meals) got yellow blue red & green sandwiches to accomplish my trifles, my younger brothers love taking my homemade coloured breed sandwiches to work, their workmates often swap their lunches with them.

Ahem - Tikki eats raw, not baked, so may she please have her rainbow fish RAW and not cooked?

Difficult? Who, Tikki? She will actually eat anything put in front of her but, but, she is raw fed. And she is now in bed which gave me time to clear up all her toys although I cannot find her little red ladybird. Oh well, tomorrow is another day!

Tikki says yum yum but to be honest she would probably eat cooked food if it was put on front of her.

Just warn K9 and the others to keep away from her when she is eating,

Unless, of course, she wants Tikki to attack them.
