My brother has taken Kula on holiday to Poole & he phoned me saying that Kula decided that the bungalow really needed a new kitchen so destroyed the one that was in there this is the first time Kula has been with him over night & he was not sure if she was house trained, so he left Kula in the kitchen overnight & Kula was not impress with this so chewed the cabinet doors, the cabinets themselves & the kitchen door Last night he let her stay in the bedroom with him, he said she was suppose to sleep on floor but Kula decided his bed was better place to sleep On a more positive note she is house trained unless left on her own, then she will destroy everything in sight otherwise she is house trained. Kula loves the sea & beach my brother says he does have a job getting her back on her lead, as she enjoys her freedom to much, but he does manage to get her back on lead after a couple of hours, he said her eyes light up when she see's the beach & she as learnt now not to drink the sea as not nice to drink, [he goes to beach every morning & park at night] My brother is having to stay longer now [October] as a new kitchen is coming later his month, this is going to be big test for Kula as she still not human friendly {is muzzled when off lead} so having some strange people in bungalow fixing a new kitchen will be challenging, as brother can't leave her locked alone in another room or she will destroy it, I have told him to leave her on lead & muzzled until she is use to them, then remove lead but leave her muzzled just encase she does go for them once off her lead.
You sound surprisingly calm Tina. I hope Kula settles down soon, before there are any more disasters. I feel a bit sorry for your brother too, it is hard watching a rescue dog 24 hours a day.
To be honest Carole I was looking at new kitchens last Sunday in B&Q as the one already in was a bit dated [1970's] but didn't let on to my brother My brother as now retired from the police after being injured in the line of duty [was stabbed severely in his stomach] he's only decided to have Kula full time last Friday after the breeder said he was going to put her in a rescue home as he needs the kennel for another breeding dog, so he bought her from breeder & took her straight down to Poole to spend some quality time with her alone [without me retraining her lol] The fun will start when she meets the hooligans for the first time specially the Evil One, she as met K9 & Skye there was a lot of vocal coming from both bitches {Skye & Kula} [growling snarling] but they did calm down & K9 well he was just his old calm self & let Kula come to him when she was ready, then we went walkies together.
Sounds like your going to have lots of fun when they all meet up, Sorry about your kitchen, hope she dosent get a liking for them
Yes plus that will mean 11 dogs & 4 cats living under one roof Kitchen was going to be replace anyway, Kula just made sure it was this year & not next year.
EEEK !! Indeed good luck your going to need it lol. It's bad enough when my daughter brings her lot with her and I've got 6 pugs and 1 staff, goodness knows how I'd cope with your lot lol.
It's Christmas day that's going to be extra EEKS as now I got to reorganize where I can put the now 26 dogs, I did had everything worked out for the was 25 dogs, but now I got to reshuffle the dogs to fit Kula in somewhere, away from the other visiting dogs yet still be near my brother.
Kitchen fitters are coming today & tomorrow (Thursday & Friday) problem where to put Kula has been solved, as my lodger went down to Poole yesterday & will stay in bungalow while fitters are there & brother will take Kula to beach for 3 hours each day (possibly longer if left to Kula) then once back my brother will stay in his bedroom with Kula (once he has dried Kula off) until the fitters have left, then my brother, lodger & Kula will be coming home on Tuesday where the fun really starts.
He's got wellies & rain mac he be ok, I am guessing he probably go in the café there every hour or so to dry off if its raining.
