She will not eat. No mince, no regular meat, no chicken necks - she will not eat. I am worried sick.

Sorry, I pressed Send before I meant to earlier.

Has she eaten anything yet? It could just be that now she is that little bit older she doesn't need so many meals.

Hope she'll eat a bit soon, to put your mind at rest.

She's about the age where a lot of pups drop off one of their meals, Malka, so it could just be as simple as she's not hungry. I wouldn't worry too much if it's just one meal she's missed and she's toileting OK

She had gotten herself lost. I could hear her from the salon, and from my bedroom, and thought she had tangled herself in the back room.

On checking times on my computer, she had vanished around 7.30pm as I had not checked off the time Shabbat finished and I had not clicked it off. I also had not clicked off the time to put the rubbish out, and that is set for 9pm.

I could hear eeping when in the salon but she was not here. I could hear eeping when in my bedroom but she was not there. The back "balagan" room where everything is kept, I literally tore it to pieces. And I could still hear eeping. But I could not find her. The eeping was always somewhere else.

I opened every cupboard, kept calling her, just about gave up then thought open the front door but it had not been opened all day. Double locked, chain on, Pereg's rope on...

...and in she came. There are no holes she could have gotten through - I mean if she could have gotten out she could have come back. Yes, mice can and do get through a hole that you can put a pencil through, but Tikva is MUCH larger than a mouse.

In the end I opened all the performance of the door and in she came. How she had gotten out I do not know. I managed to get all round the bungalow, falling a number of times as there is no light at the back although I did have a torch between my teeth, and there was no way she could have gotten out.

Anyhow, I kept giving her food Food food until she bit me, which meant she was OK. Then she spent hours racing backwards and forwards through the bungalow until I was able to grab her and put her in her night crate. So we both got maybe two hours sleep.

Then she woke up and niggled because she wanted a poo, came back and bit me so I thought thank goodness for small teeth!

Now I have to sort out the back room - before she does!

Glad to hear that Tikva is eating again. What a little Houdini! I hope you do manage to find her escape route as she is clearly starting to feel more independent. I hope she is less bitey when her new teeth come through, as thin, aged skin and puppy teeth are not a good mix. Do you think some bigger, harder bones might help?

Phew! What a relief it must have been when you found her. Chico has occasionally as if by magic appeared in the front garden, but I assume he has sneaked out when I've gone to check the post box - it's easy to miss him as he's so tiny.

Good idea of Carole's to think about some bigger bones to keep those teeth busy.

I just do not know how she had gotten out. Either she is in the baby crate if I go to the macolet, or I clip her onto a leash which is looped onto the arm of my chair and cannot get loose if I am going on my chair so she is in the crate. Both are done before I even think about opening the door, and if someone turns up at the door they know that if I call out to please wait, it is because the mini booga has to be secure before I open the door..

The last time the door was open was Friday morning when Oren came to fix my air-con motor which had somehow fallen off the wall. And because he was in and out for ages, Tikva was in the baby crate. And as that crate only has a door on one of the long sides, that side is always turned round to the wall so she cannot open it.

Someone has just been round the bungalow again and there is no gap anywhere she could have gotten out and she could not have gotten out of any window as the louvres are all closed - plus there are screens inside the louvres.

I know she is still small but she has gone from an XXS harness [ I had to cut it off her as I could not get it over her head as her skull has widened] to an XS harness and is now in an S size. A bit loose but she cannot get out of it, nor can she choke on that style.

She is still only on chicken necks because sharp teeth or not, they are still very tiny - except for the canines. But she happily chombles away on the various chewbones I had only just stocked up on for Pereg, and those are hard.

I just want to know how she got out.

Well I would if I could but I have a badly bruised situpon from where I satupon very hard last week and I do not fancy going bumpy bumpy bumpy on the pavement [she is far too small to go out with me on The Silver Monster and Tontoo is on charge] especially trying to keep a small lunatic from under my wheels.

It is also unbearably hot out and I do not want her burning her delicate little tootsies.

You will need to put lid on your basket on scooters & put Tikva the little lunatic in there.

I will check with the delumptious one if he can sort out a lid for the basket on The Silver Monster - the basket on Tontoo is not fixed - it just loops over the battery handle, and is also much too small.

But it really is diabolically hot out and I do not think it a good idea to take her out at the moment. I clipped the tether I had made onto her harness so she could go outside in the yard - and she was back within two minutes as soon as she realised how hot it was.

It is also horrible yellow out so I reckon the air is rather polluted.

I am fighting the temptation! I did give in and put it on for a while a day or so ago but I'm holding out as long as I can.

Mind you, it's my birthday tomorrow, so if it's chilly I might treat myself to a bit of warmth!

The air-con on in the salon is on from the time I get up, plus I have a fan fixed to the wall above my monitor.

The one in my bedroom is on all night and then again from around 4pm when the sun hits from the west. I even had another wall air-con fitted in the back room which is my "store room" and which I have to go through there to get from the kitchen to my bedroom. That also faces west so goes on also around 4pm.

The tiny kitchen has a large fan which I put on whenever I am in there, which is as infrequent as possible!

I also keep all the louvres at the back closed to keep the sun out - this has been and still is the hottest summer since records were started. It has definitely been getting hotter each year since I first came here.

The thing is that having no interior doors, just 3/4 length net curtains across the doorways, it means that I do not need to set the ones in my bedroom and the back room on very cold as the cool air now sort of flows through the bungalow. As long as is takes the heat off then that is all I need. As there is nothing between the plasterboard ceilings and the tiled roof, there is nothing to keep heat out. Nothing to keep warmth in during the winter though.

But it really is far too hot to take Tikva out, especially as her coat is so short - it is like velvet, so nothing to cool her down. Mind you I think I will have to get some sort of jacket or sweater for her for the winter...
