Yes, I agree. I think there is Staffs. blood there, but can't see any Aussie.

    How old is she roughly?
A BM x Staffy mix would make her a average a good 60 to 90lb dog full grown according to what side she took after.
I just don't see the BM at all in the face, nose or jowls, though coloring could be from a BM.

I believe looks like a Pit Bull mix maybe. Has longer fur than PB.

Thought this also but lean more toward staffy mix because it's the RSPCA adopted.

I very much doubt the RSPCA would take in a Pit let alone adopt one out.

PB & PB mix are banned in England, plus the RSPCA would of put the dog down if it failed the tape measure test (stupid test the government came up with to see if its a PB/PB Mix or Staffy) I thinking along lines of Staffy mix

What's the test? I wasn't thinking about the ban. Even with the ban there are still some Pits and it's not possible to tell by looking if the dog is a PB mix vs Staffy mix or some other sort of mix. That's the problem with BSL if a dog looks like a Pit but isn't that dog will be punished but a Pit mix might have no problems.

@Bulldogs4Life - there is no "tape measure" test as such. If a dog is classed as a pit or a pit cross, they are forbidden in the UK. Even a Staffie who looks a "bit strange" can, and will be, classed as an illegal pit.

A dog warden just has to say "that looks like a pit/pit cross and its fate is done.

Well this is conflicting. But from what I read by UK owner is that they use part of the standard / physical characteristics to decide whether a dog is our is not a "Pit Bull type" just like they do in some cities here.

I understand that this isn't sound. I'm saying the same thing. A Staffy cross our other bull breed mix could be mid labeled a Pit Bull even though they are not. Same happens here in the states.

However there are in fact Pit Bulls in UK. I've a friend there that has had Pit for many years (I've seen the pedigree). I also know 2 people on another UK forum each with exempt Pits.

One is certainly a Pit without a doubt. The dog was taken & kept for a period had to be spayed and receive permanent ID & the owner also obtained insurance and was able to get their dog back. They had to go to court for all this also.

The other dog owner did get the dog from a "dogs home" I believe is what they said and I'm not sure if that is like a rescue? I'm not familiar with that term here. While this dog was homed as a Staff mix the dog does look like a possible Pit mix and was labeled a Pit by police. Just as the other poster this dog was taken and they were able to get the dog back going through the requirements. I don't know if the dog is a Pit Bull, Pit Bull mix or maybe a big Staffy mix could be any of those but she's registered as dangerous Pit now and has some Pit look with a couple faults.
