Sorry if this has been posted I didn't see it up here yet. This is written by an rescue blog about Hulk being at stud for 20k. It's just amazing how fools will spend their money. It's all senseless. They are not just misrepresenting what breed he is but he hasn't accomplished anything. Other than being a large bandog type of dog. I can't figure out why they think his semen is worth that nor why people pay that for an essentially as far as I know unproven, unhealth tested dog. http://blog.theanimalrescuesite.com...paign=dark-dynasty-hulk-dog&utm_term=20150324 This is down the article "Another concern about this now-famous pup is how his breeders encourage dog fighting, intentionally or not. Dark Dynasty uses shock collars, choke chains, and heavy restraints, and antagonizes them with violence in order to make them “the best security dogs” that they can. These practices are disturbingly close to how dog fighting rings are run, and these animals exemplify the target of underground rings." You will have to ignore this bit of rubbish. The blog might contain general inaccurate info but I posted in reference to the stud service.
Unfortunately not. Since they don't appear to be doing anything illegal they can keep doing what they are doing. I'm just scratching my head. For the life of me I just can't figure out some people with dogs.
All you have to do is google American Bulldog breeders in the US and you get the most frightening mutations...more meaty, more beefy, sporting dogs...but just under the radar of legal.
People can ask what they want for breeding and people will pay what they are willing. I've known people paying thousands. I've seen thousands for dogs (stud service) under a year old even. It is a sad state for dogs these days. There has always been different types of American Bulldogs. Mainly Johnson (beefy type) and Scott (more streamline type). Those breeding Johnson are really not doing anything near illegal from egg hat I've seen.
Well with no health testing and past issues in the one side around shown to have poor hips. basics are your paying for pups which will most likely have future issues which will cost another 10 to 15 grand, along with food bills and normal higher cost that go along with owning a giant breed. Don't think most look at how much more it costs for meds since they go by size.
Not necessarily by size either. It currently costs me approximately $100 for a month's supply of prescription medication for Pereg, plus another $40 or $50 a month for the necessary supplements to help support her liver, her prescription medication being processed through the liver. That does not take into account her necessary three or six-monthly blood tests which are nearly $400. Sometimes more if I want a full thyroid panel done. This is just for a small-medium size dog of unknown origin, apart from the fact that there is no current test for her condition. So for a really large dog with a condition that could have been avoided had its dam and sire been tested for that condition, I dread to think what that would cost.
Search for Manson Family Bandogs if you seek a good working Bandog in the USA, you may be waiting a while though. I've got enough dirt on American Bulldog breeders worldwide including several well decorated kennels to fill a dump truck but whom in your eyes are these legality-skirting breeders? Are you talking about high profile breeders or some novice in his back garden?
Not all need c-section it depends on the individual female. Many large breeds and mixes including bandog types whelp naturally. Though some of the Am Bully with a build closer to EB will likely need csection. Narrow hips, big round head puppies. Exactly. Not all larger dogs have health issues but so many of the bully type or dogs of any large breed bred sstrictly for size they end up with costly health problems! I've seen it myself. What they spend on a single dog in a short period of time is probably more than my dogs lifetime vet bills combined. One breeder has only a few dogs but massive bills. They breed these dogs with knowledge of ortho problems that they paid thousands to fix. They don't mind paying 5-10k to get a breeding done either. It's pretty amazing what they pay & sell pups for with such health problems in the Am Bully. I didn't know that about Pereg. Poor gal. I'm glad that despite not having a test at least she can get treatment. I shudder thinking about ever owning a dog with something serious. It's hard to see your dog suffer (well at least for most people) for their entire life and the financial cost can be huge. I've a good APBT for protection but for size and even intimidation a bandog is a good consideration along with other pure breeds. I think the smaller dogs are just easier to take with you vs the larger dogs. I fit my Corso & LGD together in a smaller SUV but he wasn't full grown and it was still like no room back there. That's what I was wondering on the AB breeders. I'm sure there are people doing one thing or another that is actually illegal. That can be found in most any breed, people might be breaking local or state laws.
Well for a healthy Mastiff Mouse is roughly the size of Hulk (Mouse is 4 months younger) Mouse is from health tested parents, Hulk know issues in one side of the line. Heartworm meds $552 a year. $160 a Month food $1920 a year. insur $42 a month $504 a year. Homeowner Insur $127 more every 3 months i.e. $ 508 a year. Tags $20 a year. Flea pills 304 a year. Total is $3808 a year basic This is not including toys or treats, which personally looking at 200 a month. Another 2400 a year. Grand total $6208 a year. Lifespan 10yrs good side =$62,080 $30k for a pup. $92,080 Please remember this is a 100% health dog for that 10yrs. *Puppy classes, Daycare, OB training, CGC and Temp Testing (Not included) Don't think they look at Paying for a decent house someplaces in 10 years but they will rush out and spend the money for a pup or the semen to get pups.
$200 a month seems excessive. Not everyone would be spending that. I don't think I pay near to 62k a lifetime. And holy crap that's some high heart meds. But even if you take that out of the total price it's still quite a bit with the inflated purchase price and not including knee, hip surgeries or other problems. Which sides of Hulk had the known health issues? ETA: the heart worm meds wow!
Pups from are going for 30k a pup. If you go cheap heart med wise. Heartgard is 128.73 and then double or triple that for a giant breed is 257.46 to 386.19 that's if you buy from them for the year at once.
Yes I know that's what I meant by inflated. Not that you inflated it sorry to be confusing. I meant taking out the $200 a month for treats & toys that it would still be a lot for everything else plus the over priced cost of the pup not including thousands should serious health issues arise. People are crazy with money. After all they pay that for reptiles too.
dentail rope 12.00 month 2 large treat bags 28.00 a week 112 a month daily beef jerky 30 x 2.00 = 60.00 a month Actually works out to exactly 200 a month
Yes if you wish to buy that. Not everyone does that's what I'm saying. Not everyone gives treats daily. A bottle of ivomec is like $40. I'm not sure how long it last for a kennel of mammoth dogs.
No sorry if I wrote that as insulting or questioning. Was met as a example of how much it is. As is my weekly/ monthly treat list
lol we are writing at the same time. And yes Mouse is most likely pampered a bit more than most dogs.
I didn't take it that way at all. Just wanted to make sure you understood or knew I understood you if that makes sense.
