I'm not sure how well we'll be able to see the solar eclipse in Hungary, not that I'm really worried. I saw the solar eclipse in 1999 when I was living on the island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean. We were all issued with special specs to wear.

I also saw a total lunar eclipse in 2001 when we were sailing off the coast of Zanzibar ... now that was really spectacular but very creepy,

Looking on the web site Derby will only have 75%-85% chance of seeing the eclipse if not overcast, but looks like an Lunar eclipse is coming in September but can't remember if this year or next year

It was freezing cold here during the eclipse, I had to hobble back to house to get my gloves, hat, coat. xx

Super photo's Tina. We were lucky enough to have clear skies too. I had a quick peep through a pinhole card, (absolutely useless), and then through two pairs of dark sunglasses, (I know, a bit risky, my eyes are still not quite back to normal). We also had those multiple images - like you have in your first shot - I wonder what caused that?

If no one had told me there was going to a solar eclipse today I'd still be none the wiser! No different a day from normal here in Hungary!

Have no idea with double images what caused it but first 20 photos where double or even triple image of the eclipse, but not for my photographer friend his photo's were spot on, but then he was using black filters from the off, he swapped my green filter for black one & then I too had single image photo's.
CaroleC next time wear welding goggles 100% safer plus no white bits floating in eyes afterwards.
