Creating a good thing or a bad thing.

Well got to say after two I'm a convert. Met the 2nd XXL Bully a 145lb male, who was 17 months old.
It and the first I met where perfect, the first being a 120-125lb female.
Both where extremely confident dogs, with what seemed to be zero dog aggression, (Mouse met both and played kissy face with both). Romeo even liked the male today.
Romeo is my ex-gf's EM and he is a natural 245lb dog you can see 3 ribs outlined at that weight and is a very protective dog, and he had no problem playing with the dog. (which shocked me as he is very selective as to who he plays with, as Mouse will play with any dog who is not DA.)
No I don't think many should own these dogs as they can cause a issue that most don't look at, and can damage the breeds image.
Yes individual ones such as "HULK" are really helping with the bully breed image, but as most know it take one idiot to undo years of work in seconds.
My concern is with what they are breeding with, by the head structure and colouring, my guess would be Dogue de Bordeaux or Boerboel (Mizpah or Ysterberg lines) nd how this will effect health in the long term or short term.
I think either as long as there is lot of socialization would make for a great dog and a stable dog in public.
My fear is a combining of health issues. And the great ability of humans to swear by (Oh it is healthier).
This is something I've had a issue with first hand with American Mastiffs, as the limited breeders shout it drools less than a Mastiff and is healthier, when the trust is, yes it drools less, and has less HD and ED than Mastiffs but has a high rate of spinal issues. There is a temperment issue also, where they same they have a better temp but this anyone will call BS on.
    BACK on topic.
What issues can you see with this breed?
IMO it's a Johnson/Dogue de Bordeaux mix. (I just see to much of both.)
Here is a vid click of HULK for anyone who does not know of what I'm speaking.

As I has said both I have met where better behaved and highly dog friendly.

I worry about the joints of XXL breeds (particularly 'new' ones - due to inbreeding) and I am also not a keen of exaggerating features in any breed.

Personally I am for fitter 'agile' breeds and dogs (even in large breeds) as that seems to be the healthiest fit for a dog :)

Yes I would worry about joints and life expectancy of course. The giants can be wonderful pups. But I look at Callie at a modest sixty pounds with his shattered knees. How are the big guys health wise is a question.

Apart from health problems, I see he’s from a kennel that trains protection dogs with e-collars ! if that dog decided to stop responding to commands, it would be nigh impossible to hold him back, bull breeds have a bad enough reputation why do people feel the need to breed huge strong x dogs.

I'm not sure how Hulk is helping with the imagine? You mean in a good way? I don't think that kennel does anything positive for them? Least not that I've seen.

They have used several breeds to create American Bullies / XXL dogs. The temperament depends on the breeding & owners. I'm not sure that they have used Boerboel though. Some don't admit the mix of course. If they did use Boerboel I'd be concerned of not only health but temperament as well considering some of the unstable subjects, if those were crossed in that'd be bad.

I don't know if you read this but there are unstable bullies who are being bred putting more out there. Just like with any other breed, it's just that they are one of the larger breeds so more damage is possible & when they attack often mislabeled as Pit Bulls.

There are breeders all over the place but there does seem to be those with good temperament in mind and trying to breed good dogs. Then those actually breeding for aggression. Not just dog aggression, but human aggressive that they claim are protection dogs. Though they don't have a stable temperament & unfortunately improperly trained by these people. It is an accident waiting to happen.

If I want a bandog I will go to someone breeding & training properly. Instead of someone breeding for size and misrepresenting what they have. That's how I feel.

As far as Hulk himself, his sire is an inbred Chevy dog so yes his sire is bred on DDB/AmBulldog. You would have to consider health problems that come from those breeds as well as the bully blood in his bottom & of course those from AST/APBT even though he is probably less then 20% Pit Bull.
No they are not "healthier" then pure dogs, you can't make the comparison as they are being bred as pure dogs now. They are also from a very small gene pool. Starting with some unhealthy dogs too & the continued inbreeding will doom them.

The health issues I've seen varies. I think the structural problems are very concerning, especially in the extreme & pocket bullies. Some of it is down right sickening as humans are breeding these dogs that suffer intentionally.
Other issues are allergies, demodex, hip dysplasia, DJD, NCLA, luxating patella, I've heard few blind but I'm not sure the cause there, and entropionow to name some.

Some bully breeders don't do anything to try to improve health or prevent problems. They just accept them like they are normal. They are selling pups for $3000 but don't bother to health test or provide a health guarantee. They don't agree with people putting dogs down who can't afford surgeries either. Since they have done $4000 knee replacement surgery they think all owners should be able to. But that's not realistic for a lot of people who don't realize the problems their dog will grow up to have.

The ones you met were better behaved as compared to?

Some do have a shorter life span or succumb to cancer. Others are put to sleep because of health. But larger XXL don't always live short lives Chevy died at 14yrs old. He was more bred on bandog type though VS the Am Bully. That's the difference not just size but breeding. Some Am Bully have health issues their whole lives & shorter lives. They are inbred on unhealthy dogs with poor structure to boot.

@Bulldogs4Life the post is more a question of how people view them.
I have done zero looking as to health and other issues, I will say I always have issues with anything people create. ( Got a friend who does rescue work is why I am very anti doodle).
Both I met IMO where very stable dogs, health is where my huge concern is with them.
Any giant breed can be a issue, as I have seen so many bad owners.

With the issues which can happen even in the best breed DDB, I can see huge issues with no health testing.

It's not only the lack of health testing either, dogs with knee & hip surgery being used for breeding. That just boggles my mind. You know the animal has a serious problem.
I think the XXL lines might have a bit better health overall vs Am Bully lines because of the structure & also the genetic disease, limited gene pool.

I don't have a problem with people who create if they are responsible. It's when they do it irresponsibly. I take major issue with that.

I think how people view them varies. When you have responsible owners with a mannered dog that will help in their imagine. It might soften people to them. But when you have the irresponsible people who do everything to attempt at a bad imagine and let their dogs attack other dogs and chase or bite people a lot of those people will judge them as a whole to be bad.

I think they dog is hideous, and cant see any benefit to any breed in what they are doing, we see the "mutant" accusation thrown around all the time about pedigree dogs that are exaggerated in features, with concerns about health and well being, this dog looks the biggest mutant I have yet to see, what are these breeders trying to achieve? everything about it looks like its been fed on steroids of one kind or another,

Do they do any health testing on their dogs before breeding, seems to me they are self promoting they can breed bigger dogs than anyone else..........poor dog!

No they don't health test but they do have health problems in these large dogs.

What these types of breeders breed for is big chest, big head & huge size. If you ever check out any of these breeders websites that's what you will see.
Essentially things like we strive to breed the best possible massive heads & size. Or description of individual dogs like he has 25" head, huge bone, 110lbs on vet scale (which doesn't mean the dog isn't fat to pad the weight). 15 months old AT STUD $1,000 will produce monsters for sure, such & such dogs in his pedigree all 130lbs+ with 25" heads.
Same with females one of the best females you will find weight huge bone & head size, she's often mistaken for a male, will produce large heads ect
