    Chips, aka French fries.

So I had a fancy for chips the other day. A rare occurrence but I usually have a small bag of oven chips somewhere in the freezer only it had been long used, scoffed, enjoyed. And when I went across to the macolet they had run out of packs of frozen chips.

Not to worry, I really just fancied them but it was not the end of the world.

So yesterday when I went across for something else, it was announced that they had packs of frozen chips. Either to be cooked in oil [I have a mini lecci chip fryer - used maybe a couple of times but it was a freebie] or done in the oven, in which case I would do them in my small halogen oven.

But they were not in a normal small pack - so what on earth am I supposed to do with 2 kilos of frozen chips when all I want is maybe ten at a time?

How does the fact that I do not have any animal fat to start with sound? :037:

Sorry, I did not mean to sound flippant, but I only use EVOO or pure coconut oil - although I do have some sunflower oil for emergencies, and I think I have a bottle of canola oil as well.

And I so rarely eat chips... I just fancied some at the time. SNIFF.

I luuv chips which I usually make with fresh spuds, but when the family are over and I've five to cook for it's easier and saves a lot of work to use frozen.

Malka chop fresh potato into chips, then using that zapping machine (microwave) zap them for 5 mins to soften them then bake in oven, bingo you got chips xx

They have a unique and yummy flavor when cooked in coconut oil. My dogs love coconut oil, too, and get a teaspoon a day.

Tina - O dp mpt jave [I was going to delete that as I had my fingers on the wrong keys and was not watching what turned up on the monitor, but then thought why bother!]

I rarely fancy chips - sometimes fancy a jacket tato but do dat in de zapper.

I just fancied some chips. And now I have them and I do not fancy them now.

I mean heck, two kilos of them when just a few chips would have done?

Coconut oil be scrumtious but in this weather it is solid. I get various coconut things from CA - Coconut Secret, Coconut Aminos, Garlic Sauce getting sploshed in just about everything, also Coconut Secret, The Original Coconut Aminos, Soy-Free Seasoning Sauce, not forgetting their raw coconut vinegar.

Pereg gets a splash of coconut vinegar plus some of the oil - I think coconut oil is like crack for dogs!

I get my coconut oil from tropicaltraditions.com. I use the oil for pets because it's a little cheaper. My little dogs get half a teaspoon daily and I get a tablespoon.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but I get all this from iHerb in California - and I now have a craving for chips again but it is way past 11pm and I really need to sleep, not stuff myself with chips.

Don't worry about the time. If you crave it, eat it. Keep waiting and your craving will get worse and you'll eat way too much and get sick.
