Spotted this today - so cute! http://bcove.me/1bzvw63r Hope the link works, it's the first time I've posted a video.
What a beautiful Beagle! Thanks so much for making this video available to me. It came in perfectly on my screen. Hope you can find more like this.
Pikey and I are doing well together. He pitches a fit when I leave him to run errands so I'm thinking about taking him with me. He's very comfortable riding in a car but I don't know how he will act if I leave him in the car while I shop. If he's OK with that, he can go with me everywhere in cool weather. Maybe I could put him in the car in the driveway, go inside the house, and get his reaction. It's a good thing I'm retired because he really doesn't like being left alone. I would appreciate any comment you may have as to how to go about this. Thanks.
@Johnclick - good to hear that Pikey and you are doing well together and I am sure that Carole will not mind us interrupting her thread [apologies to @CaroleC]. I will only leave Pereg for maximum half an hour while I buzz across to the little store across the road, but that is not because she has separation anxiety it is because of her condition. I hear her cry and grumble while I go up the ramp to the sidewalk but then she stops, because she knows I will be coming back home, and relaxes until she hears me coming back. Maybe Pikey also calms down once you have left to run errands? Keeping with you 24/7 he will never learn to be alone, so I am not sure whether taking him with you in the car while you shop will be the answer. You say taking him everywhere in cool weather, but what about when the weather is hot? You cannot leave him in the car while you shop in hot weather, can you. He sounds adorable - may we please have new photos of him?
Thanks for your comments, particularly about Pikey getting accustomed to my being away. I went grocery shopping Tuesday morning and he didn't make quite as big a fuss as before. I live in the San Gabriel Valley and it gets very hot during August and September. If you leave you dog locked in the car when it's hot, you will likely be dealing with the police. Also, I need to take some more pictures of Pikey which I will pass along. It's hard for me to believe that his personality is so different from my first Beagle.
