Both Little One knew and now Pereg knows to keep away from me when I fall - just sit next to me until I am able to get up. Pereg, being bigger, heavier and much more solid than Little One, will let me hang on to her harness while I can crawl to something more solid to get myself up again. Luckily my sugars are OK and as yet I have never had a seizure, but I do fall and have knocked myself out more than a few times. As for Fairs - the only one we were ever taken to was the one on Hampstead Heath - I think around Easter time? And the only ride allowed was the horse roundabout which cost all of six pence [old money] to ride on. And it was once only. Everything else we just had to watch. Such a long time ago, such a long time ago.
@lovemybully Sophie isn't dumb. Just untrained to alert. If a dog even notices your different behavior it can be trained to alert to it. Just takes time and patience.
This is Zara my previous medic alert dog, she helped me for 18 years. She had a stroke when she was 18 & half years old (we had her birthday on her gotcha day 15 December) there was nothing the vets could do for her, I whispered into her ear that mummy was ok now & didn't need looking after anymore & she had earned her freedom over in rainbow bridge, xx Zara
@6JRT's what a lovely dog. I'm tearing up again. So easy for me since Rita died last week. I've never been known as a particularly sensitive person, so it's driving me crazy! Will I ever get over it!
I had her from the RSPCA so don't know about her parents, she was not full size she was small GSD but was my baby for 18 lovely years xx Zara the GSD with Prince the Collie X Afghan also from RSPCA
