And you can keep it! We do not get snow in the region where I live although they do get snow in high places such as Jerusalem and Tsfat some winters. There is a ski resort on the Hermon in the Golan which usually opens in January [or when there is sufficient snow]/ It has been lovely and sunny today - teeshirt and shorts weather for most of the boys - but my little bungalow has been like an icebox as it is always cold in here during the winter [and roasting during the summer]. I must look like the Michelin man with all the layers of clothes I am wearing, starting with a thermal base layer and ending with a quilted gilet! I barely fit into Xanadu!
The weather where we live is supposed to be cold, around freezing most days and/or snow. Today is almost Spring-like. As Al Gore said " When it's balmy in December, be afraid, be very afraid". Time to get the pups out.
It's been really windy overnight with heavy rain. It's stopped for now but it's very dreary out there but not particularly cold.
Still white here but its been raining earlier & it was washing the snow away, only problem is it's now freezing cold again & the melted snow as turned to sheets of ice making it very icy underfoot
Same here. Glad I'm well stocked up with food so I don't have to walk along icy pavements to get to the shops. I'm not so bothered about slipping over on the dog walk - at least it will be on grass and not a hard pavement! Chico was very brave and went out into the snow last night to do the necessary. It was coming down in big flakes at the time and he was trying to catch them!
It's sunny here with a bright blue sky but -1C so ****** cold! And its due to get much colder next week with temperatures going down to -10C and we can expect snow. Tomorrow we're off to training and on the way back, a stop off at the hypermarket to stock up on food for their Royal Highness's and a warm sweater for the little black devil! After that this lady is going to hibernate so if you don't hear from me till spring it's 'cos I'm fast asleep!
It will be a very satisfying feeling when you know you are stocked up with food - I've got cupboards full of food for the humans, the dogs, the cockatiel and the wild birds! It was a very muddy walk yesterday, so I took my wellies off outside. And, of course, forgot to bring them in, so they were covered in snow this morning - inside and out. Luckily I have a pair of short wellies too - I don't know how long it will take for the others to dry out!
@Janet what you need to dry out your wellies is 2 brushes/mop handles, turn wellies upside down & put over brushes/mop handles & put handles somewhere warm & your wellies will be dry within a day. Or you could put 2 hotwater bottles inside wellies to dry them out (need the small size ones) Other method is stuffing lots of newspapers inside wellies to soak up the moisture (you need to change newspapers every hour)
Useful tips there Tina - thank you! It's years since I've had any hot water bottles. It was so cold last night though that perhaps I should think of getting some!
I'll have a look at those for my husband! He's not very mobile and feels the cold, so perhaps he could have one on his lap!
Oh booger - I have just remembered that I cannot buy anything online because after Wednesday we will not be getting any mail for the foreseeable future.
Pet planet, Amazon, Ebay, Pets at Home, they are brilliant stay hot for 10 hours plus warms bed & then K9 sleeps on one in bed too (he nicks my feet one) they fantastic & great for diabetics as can't burn feet/hands/body xxxx
